The farm structure, as per the Apulian tradition, dominates from the height of a small hill a wide expanse of green used both as a pasture and as a wheat plantation. Part of the plots, left in the wild, presents the most variegated tree species of the Mediterranean scrub which, thanks to the will of preservation of the owners, continues to characterize most of the year with its bright colors. Casale Citrignano is located a few kilometers from the famous and white "Ostuni" (about 7 km) and a short distance from the characteristic towns of Salento such as Alberobello, Castellana Grotte, Polignano a Mare, Lecce, the WW Torre Guaceto nature reserve and the city of Matera, European capital of culture 2017\. It has two independent apartments with masonry and vaulted ceilings in stone, expertly restored with modern style and with the most advanced comforts, while maintaining the original setting. The first apartment has a living area with double bed, kitchenette, dressing room and bathroom with shower. The second, instead, is composed of a living room with kitchenette, a double room separated from the living area, anteroom, large bathroom with shower cubicle and bathtub. The living room also has a comfortable double sofa bed. Both are equipped with air conditioning, TV system, intercom system, alarm system, appliances and free wi-fi. They overlook a large internal courtyard characterized by a traditional stone pavement, bounded by a wooden gate and a typical dry stone wall that ensure privacy from the nearby manor house. At the center of the courtyard there is a swimming pool with whirlpool for the exclusive use of guests. In addition to the possibility of relaxing in the sun on comfortable sun loungers and deckchairs, guests have at their disposal a bar area covered by a wooden gazebo, a gas hob, mini fridge, dishwasher and a small barbecue for delicious lunches to be enjoyed by the pool. The following activities are organized on request: \- excursions on foot or by bike to visit the nature trails of the farm; \- tasting of Apulian focaccia prepared on sight by the expert hands of the "massara" and cooked in a wood oven placed under the gazebo, of the traditional "gnummarieddi" roast or of the now famous orecchiette with meat sauce \- short cooking classes to learn the secrets of preparing homemade pasta; \- Breakfast on request, lunch or dinner on request. It was a perfect location to immerse ourselves in the Puglia region. The second apartment is perfect for two couples, each with their own space. All necessary items for kitchen were available. The accommodation was spotless inside and out. The outdoor space was remarkable and served us well. Don’t hesitate to book your stay here. Séjour de 39 nuits en septembre 2025 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Andy Peart 5 juill. 2025 Points forts : Propreté #### Lovely villa near Ostuni Casale Citrignano di Mina & Andrea Is a lovely villa 5 mins drive from the small functional Puglia town of San Michele Salentino (where there are locals restaurants, petrol and shops) and 15 mins drive from beautiful tourist destination of Ostuni (the ‘White City’). It’s out in the countryside so you really need a car - this makes it wonderfully quiet and rural and it’s within easy day visits for go-to destinations including Polignano, Monopoli, Alberobello, Martina Franca and more. The owners - Andrea and Mina - live next door and were really helpful, kind and friendly leaving wine and biscuits on arrival and bringing fresh eggs for us in the week. The villa has everything and more that you need; the patio area has plenty of seating and umbrellas for shade and the pool is great for cooling off. There’s also an outside kitchen and BBQ. There are actually two separate units to the property: the master suite which has indoor seating, kitchen, dining, bathroom and behind a half-height wall, the double bedroom. There’s a second small unit also accessed from the patio with a small kitchenette, double bed and bathroom making the configuration perfect for the three adults in our group. (I believe the villa is always let complete but you’d have to check). This, by far, was the most wonderful oasis we found on our trip to Italy. It was extremely private, with a pool set only for the guests renting the two separate suites, (we had family joining us and it was amazing to be able to offer them their own private space, also fully equipped). The accommodations included everything from outside bbque equipment, to board games, swimming floats (if you have children), clothes washing machine, and absolutely everything you would need to cook meals if so desired. Den Pool und die Aussenküche hat man für sich alleine.Die technische Ausstattung ist hervorragend für Menschen - wie wir - die viel im Internet unterwegs sind. Geschlafen haben wir hervorragend, da die Betten klasse sind und das Klima im Haus sehr angenehm ist. Eingerichtet sind sie mit allem was man benötigt. Begrüsst wurden wir mit einem riesigen Korb voller netter Kalorienbomben und vielen kleinen Kätzchen. Non avrei mai immaginato di poter riposare e divertirmi così tanto. La Puglia è una regione davvero fantastica e tutta da scoprire. La masseria in cui ho soggiornato sembra un resort cinque stelle lusso ma a conduzione familiare per cui sembra davvero di sentirti a casa. Mina è una ragazza molto disponibile che ci ha fatto conoscere luoghi molto particolari e ci ha coccolato come mai nessuno è riuscito a fare prima. Consiglio vivamente di soggiornare nella sua struttura perché credo che sia il top non solo della provincia ma credo che sia una struttura da annoverare tra le più belle dell’intera Puglia! ##### Brunette B. The swimming pool is wonderful, perfectly inserted in the external courtyard, where you can cook and have lunch in complete tranquility. I padroni di casa eccezzionali Abbiamo trascorso una bellissima vacanza in questo favoloso casale, perfettamente ristrutturato con gusto e dotato di tutti i comfort. La spendida piscina, sempre pulita e in ordine grazie al proprietario Andrea, è situata in una corte interna caratterizzata dalla massima privacy ed è ad eslusivo uso degli ospiti. La corte, soleggiata sia al mattino che si pomeriggio, è il posto ideale per rilassarsi nel massimo silenzio grazie ai lettini e al bellissimo letto e baldacchino. Il Casale Citrignano,inoltre, si trova in una posizione centrale che offre la possibilità di visitare sia le spiagge e il mare della costa ostunese sia i meravigliosi e tradizionali paesi quali Ceglie Messapica, Cisternino, Martina, Locorotondo, Alberobello, Polignano a mare, ecc..Vi consiglio, inoltre, vivamente di non farvi sfuggire l'opportunità di godere delle delizie della cucina trafizionale pugliese, splendidamente preparate dalla proprietaria Mina coadiuvata dalla sua mamma Netta..vivrete una serata speciale che ricirderete per sempre..coccolati e servito dall'inizio alla fine. Could not recommend this place enough Arrived on the Saturday to a very warm welcome from Andrea, Mina and Miriam. They had left a fantastic selection of local food for us. The accommodation was spotless and as good as the pictures. Perfectly situated for exploring Puglia by car with most of the places we wanted to visit within an hour drive of the property. The inside and outside areas were perfectly arrange. The pool was fantastic and cleaned daily. We had booked the local dinner cooked by the family for our first night. The homemade pasta, focaccia and pizza was a lovely start to exploring some ‘real’ Italy, but be prepared for the largest meal you could probably have. It was never-ending but so good. We only booked for one week but by the end wished we had booked two. Andrea and Mina were fabulous hosts and always on hand for advice or recommendations.
