Perfectly located in South Orleans, the house is just minutes from the Lower Cape villages of Chatham, Brewster and Orleans. A beautiful beach on scenic Pleasant Bay is just down the street. A unique sixty foot oblong swimming pool dominates the back yard and is completely private. The front, side and back yards unfold over an acre, abundant with gardens and filled with flowers to enjoy. The kitchen features a large island with granite counters, a Viking stovetop, high-end stainless appliances and a Country French farm table which comfortably seats a large group. A huge outdoor mahogany deck adjoins a 5-person cedar sauna and a cleverly designed mahogany barrel-style outdoor shower. A large hot tub completes the resort-like amenities. A Weber Genesis gas BBQ grill and an outdoor fire pit plus a generous assortment of plush lounge chairs and multiple umbrellas make 'hanging out by the pool' an experience equal to that of any five star hotel. (Note: The large hot tub is available off-season.) Two of the seven bedrooms are en suite, another is very large and features a comfortable sitting area with TV. The four bathrooms all have showers, and two of the bathrooms additionally have tubs, one with jacuzzi (see full descriptions below). The rumpus room / bedroom down cellar sleeps 6 in two double beds and two single bunks. The home is very spacious with our favorite room being the huge kitchen with a table big enough to seat everyone. Meal preparation was easy with the fully stocked kitchen and having everyone be able to eat together and play games was fabulous. The kids really enjoyed the hot tub and the outdoor shower. Jeff is incredibly responsive both beforehand with booking questions and during the stay when we couldn't figure out how to lock one of the doors. There are a couple of very slight negatives. We did not find the beach to be walkable and it wasn't the greatest beach to even drive to. We drove 15-25 minutes to 3 different beaches during the week. Not a deal killer by any stretch. Also, the AC is not central air and the window units were pretty loud in the bedrooms. It was pretty cool at night so we slept with the windows open and AC off when we could. The house was perfect for our gathering. Huge, lovely well appointed kitchen was perfect for all of us to prep, cook and serve together. Also clean up was quick with all the sink and dishwasher options. The bedrooms are well thought-out and the decor throughout is beautiful. The living room is so cozy and comfy for all to gather. The deck with its sauna, hot tub tables chaises and chairs was perfect as we had unseasonably warm weather! We still managed a fire in the fire pit at night which was beautiful as well. Bathrooms were beautiful and more than enough for all of us. The girls loved the karaoke machine in the basement...much fun and laughs ensued. Jeff could not have been a nicer host bringing us a gorgeous flower arrangment for the front hallway to greet us on arrival and wine at the ready on the island as well as dropping off two delicious local bakery coffee cakes which everyone loved. We ended up staying in due to the weather and the house was perfect. Plenty of space for everyone and many things to do. Really clean and well stocked. Séjour de 7 nuits en août 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Sarah G. 25 juin 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Big/Nice house, very nice owner We had 14 ppl age 2-75 and there were a lot of great things about the house: check in was easy and the owner Jeffrey let us check in early. He was very friendly and easy to communicate with the entire time! The house has a big kitchen for family dinners, a big sitting room, a tv room that we made a playroom, a big pool (not heated), a hot tub which we used a bunch, outdoor shower and a fun karaoke stage in the basement. The deck was great for dinners and we used the grill and fire pit. One room is very small- just fits a bed and a dresser. It’s also the only one on the first floor. The downstairs “kids room” ended up not working out because the bunk beds don’t have rails, the big kids hit their heads because they are up so high, and the downstairs also has a furnace room and a garage, neither of which can be locked, which didn’t work for our very curious 3 and 4yos. The top floor bedrooms are also railroad style so you have to walk through one to get to the other/the bathroom which wasn’t ideal. I think showing a floor plan would help this listing. This is our third summer on the cape all together and the other two houses we stayed in had a garage full of fun - bikes, kayaks, toys, etc. this house didn’t come with anything (inc beach towels) which was hard as we flew in. It’s also between 2 main roads which made running/walking challenging. Can’t walk to beaches but close drive to everything else! We won’t stay again but would def work for others! ##### Sarah G. It was like a precious gem that was secluded and private like it’s own compound. It was like a retreat with all the amenities like the pool and sauna and hot tub and so many living spaces…to read, lounge or enjoy playing a game. So grateful to have enjoyed spending time there with others enjoying every detail of the property providing anything and everything to make an unmistakable memory for all that were there. The home felt like it was a welcoming warm hug the moment you walked up the front path to the front door. The owners were very accommodating and welcoming. This is the first vrbo I have rented that is actually larger than it looks online. A true "10" ##### Susan C. Everything from the kitchen to the sauna was well-used and much-enjoyed. Having a soaking tub and also whirlpool tubs inside and outside? Glorious. Everything was precisely as advertised, and when we had a question, the owner was extremely responsive and courteous. The house had plenty of space for everyone both when we gathered as a group and when people wanted private time. The pool was a big hit with lots of space for swimming and game playing. The kitchen worked well for preparing meals for 22 and the deck was a great place to eat. Hope to return next year ##### Karl S. The property manager was so wonderful to work with giving very detailed information on the property and even recommendations for some great local places to visit.
