The home is one of less than 300 Eichler homes in Orange County. Every house in the neighborhood has the same mid-century style. Joseph Eichler was an influential home builder who was one of the first developers to sell homes to African Americans. He is remembered for building low cost and well-designed modern homes. This is the perfect opportunity to stay in one of this unique homes. It’s just magical! This spacious (1,660 sq ft) 1962 Eichler home was designed by the renowned architect, Claude Oakland, with every space thoughtfully addressed to provide natural lightened wide vistas throughout the floor plan. One of only 340 Eichler’s built in Orange, this home qualifies for the Mills Act, helping to preserve the neighborhood for future generations to appreciate. The home is situated on a quiet tree lined street, with a north facing entry. The living areas transition seamlessly through the entire home offering unique dining and entertaining areas. The spacious and plant filled atrium, with its open roof, is beautiful and the dining table is just across of it so you can eat while enjoying the garden view. The updated kitchen with spacious counter to prepare dinner and still be able to connect with your guests or family. This home comfortably sleeps 5 and features 3 bedrooms + Office and 2 full baths. Master suite has a King bed and Guest Bedroom has a Full bed. 3rd Bedroom has a Twin bed. The office has a sofa (but not a sleeper sofa). The outside private patio, with its plant lined landscaping and fruit trees, has ample space and is perfect for more casual entertaining. Read a book under the shade of a pine tree to unwind. Car recommended. Most of the house is still original, including the glass sliding doors from 1961, and cannot be replaced. It is one of the most effective ways to protect our water quality and keep our City clean. Street sweeping occurs weekly.
