Close to safe swimming spots & patrolled swimming at Waiotahie beach during the summer holidays. Powered 10mtr long caravan (35 feet) covered in deck, BBQ with outdoor seating & hammock. Oil heater for heating, cell phone coverage (no WIFI) Kitchen has large pantry storage, breakfast bar. Sleeps 4 (5 with prior notice), room to pitch a tent. 10-minute walk to water's edge, 2-minute drive to boat ramp, 2-minute walk to view Glow worms (bring light) Child proof fence at the front edge of section, but not fenced at the sides or back where the bush is Abundance of birdlife - Tui, wood pigeon, weka & California quail. Excellent nearby swimming and fishing. Bring your mountain bike for the new Motu cycle trail. Swim with the dolphins at Whakatane, fish with Ohiwa fishing charters, kayak hire with KG Kayaks. We loved the view from the property and being able to watch the tides come and go. The kitchen was well appointed, the bed comfortable, bathroom facilities were excellent, and the deck fantastic: even in heavy rain we were comfortable moving about. We had a really lovely family break here over a long weekend. It's a wow moment as soon as you arrive and see the magnificent view of Ohiwa Harbour, and another wow moment as you venture down the driveway at night to see the spectacular glow worms. The caravan was affordable and was perfect for our family, everything we needed to be self-sufficient for our stay, and lots of time spent on the deck relaxing and taking in the ever-changing harbour view. Our host was helpful and friendly with great communication, and we all felt like we'd had a really lovely break and went home well rested.
