"Great hotel in lovely location "

"The Villa its self is located in a quiet area, it was easy to find from Faro airport. The local supermarket 5 mins away, inside the villa was clean and tidy. Good points are there was hand soap in each bathroom, there was condiments in the cupboards which made a huge difference to self catering. The knifes actually sharp to use. We also had some washing liquid, dishwasher tablets and matches left from previous guests which again really helped. the villa manager Sarah was very friendly and helpful. The basement beds really comfortable but the king sized not so much. Some of the bathroom/shower towels really small, and the pool towels small too. But a few were large. We found the ice machine in the fridge freezer didn’t work but ice cube trays had been provided. The water filter feature a bonus. The washing machine only worked on the last day of our stay unfortunately due to a sock in the filter from a previous guest, the manager did do their best to keep us updated on repairs. If you have anyone with mobility concerns this is not the right villa as access to the pool is via one of two stairways. Faro airport is small and understaffed at a peak travel period, June half term and we queued for ages on arrival and departure to get through passport control. Advise arrive much earlier than the two hours it suggests. We arrive 2.5 hours early and only just made the flight home."

"We had a great stay. Property is very family friendly, walking distance to restaurants and the beach and extremely clean. The only issue is that you must have your passport at check in or you will not be allowed to check in. They are very firm. "

"This a beautiful boutique hotel in a convenient location in Olhao. The attention to detail is outstanding from the welcome drink to the flask of hot tea you receive as a night cap. The team are welcoming and really helpful "

"I wanted a week away alone and chose this hotel as it was not large and impersonal. The hotel is in a superb position right in the town itself. The public transport is excellent with the train station just five minutes away as is the bus station. The staff in this hotel are so helpfull and friendly and will do anything to make you stay memorable. Breakfast buffet is good with a large choice of items. There is also a pool on site not massive but so convenient if you want to stay in. Olhao is now a must for me I will be coming back again. When out and about it's very safe and all the Portuguese people I met were so kind and helpful. The hotel and place get a gold star from me. Dont forget to go on the ferry to visit the islands nearby as there is no beach in the town. "

"The Octant Vila Monte is a beautiful hotel set into the countryside about 4-5 miles from the beach. As soon as we arrived we felt relaxed and peaceful as the hotel, its grounds and our room were presented beautifully. The staff in all areas were so kind, friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The breakfast was outstanding with fresh produce and a stunning view and the hotel restaurant served amazing food each day. The adults only po was t heated but with the sunshine that wasn’t a problem. I borrowed a bike to cycle into the local towns which was a great addition. All in al, highly recommend - we’ll be back as soon as we can!"
