The night we booked in we were given a room with a "view" of the concrete wall next door. After complaining in the morning that we were meant to have a sea view we were immediately moved up to the next floor with a great view. The staff were wonderful, great airy rooms, no one in the pool but us most days. Quiet, yet not too far from hub of Nusa Dua. We both got very sick and had to cancel overnight trip to Lombok which the staff sorted out for us. Located at the end of the Nua Dua/Tanjung Benoa strip, so a short walk to some good restaurants and bars, but out of the road for a quiet holiday. Beach has water sports happening and boat storage, but not much beach activity possible if you don't do the watersports. Room was fantastic, bathroom huge, kitchen great if you were to use it. We thought it surprising that it was bare of usual things....usually there's a mini bar but the fridge had 2 bottles of water, there was a coffee percolator without any coffee/tea items- a normal electric jug would've been useful. $8 pp breakfast was good value (omelette was fantastic) and brought to your room. They also need access to a spa facility. Beach Position of the hotel was 15mins from Nusa Dua at the end of the peninsula so bit out of the way. Noisy during the day due to watersports on the beach but very pleasant pool and beachfront view. The sink was dirty and stained. The floors were tiles and covered with a film like the wrong kind of cleaning products had been used for a glazed tile floor. On request we were changed to a smaller room that was clean. Although it had a kitchen we had to ask for cooking equipment like a pot to boil water. There was no condiments like coffee, tea, salt & pepper, Basically the room was bare until you asked for things. It was also very noisy and we got a lot a fumes from the congested water sport activities right in back of the Hotel. The rooms were large and staff were helpful when we complained about our room. For the price a good hotel but could have been very good with a little more attention to detail. The picutres that were taken must have been from a long time ago as the beach was very dirty littered with rubbish & the sand was very dark (not white) & packed with the parasailing & other water sports leaving no room for a family to use the beach. The web site also said the Segara was next to the Conrad hotel which had resturants & bars to use which was correct about the resturants & bars but the Conrad was over 15 minutes walk away. The room was'nt very clean & didn't support a full kitchen unlike what was stated in the web site which was the main reason we took the apartment as we have a baby & needed to heat bottles. The bedroom doors were all heavy solid timber doors & dragged on the floor which made it very difficult to open them. The bathrooms were very mouldy & the shower heads were all blocked up & didn't work properly. The supposed "Private" outdoor spa was dirty & out in the open, everyone who used the share pool could see you so whether you were a family or a couple you would never get any privacy. The curtains may not as well have been there as you could see straight through them. I don't consider two dried eggs & two pieces of dry bacon the size of 10 cent coins breakfast. The hotel staff took too long to address the issuesand it wasn't util we told them we were leaving for the Novotel even though we had paid in full for the duration with a no refund agreement, thats how uncomfortable we were. Aargh. Refused first room because it smelt, wasn't clean and had mould right down 1 wall as well as a white residue on bottom of coffe pot. Moved to another room that still wasn't clean and had to be redone. Terrible location, isolated from everything, hotel has no bar or restaurant or usable beach. Good aircon, great WiFi. Can do so much better for the money in Bali, try Seminyak for a better location. Manager tried very hard to satisfy us. Road to hotel often very busy and flooded. ##### Robyn ### 4/10 Poor #### Verified traveller Nov 15, 2011 Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### Much better places around The hotel is located right down the end near the Benoa harbour not Nusa Dua and we had to catch a taxi into Nusa Dua, too far to walk! There is no restaurant attached to the hotel or many restaurants in the area let alone shopping or massage centres. If you want to be a bit closer to the action stay elsewhere. There are no beach lounges out on the beach and you can't really swim in the ocean in front of the hotel. The hotel rooms themselves were well set up but we had to organise to have the floors cleaned, new and extra linen and not enough bottled water in the bathrooms. Our friends were given a much smaller room than they had paid for so make sure you get what you ask for. The pool was nice and the view from the ocean facing rooms was great. Depending on what you are looking for in your holiday, overall, I wouldn't go back there and would recommend looking at accommodation closer to Nusa Dua. ##### Verified traveller ### 6/10 Okay #### Verified traveller Nov 15, 2011 Liked: Room comfort Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service #### Not impressed We booked a single King size bed room and requested an extra bed for my 4 year old son, the bed we recieved was a queen and my son was expected to sleep on the couch. The room view was half a concrete wall and a carpark for the busloads of tourists to head to the activities on the beach. There were no blockout curtains so no privacy. We requested and paid for an upgraded room which was a much nicer with a beautiful view of the beach however there was mould in the bathroom, the floors were dirty, they do not provide face washers or hand towels and rain flooded the room. My sons King size bed was 2 singles pushed together and when I pulled the sheets off after his nappy leaked the mattress was disgustingly stained. I didn't realise my sons nappy leaked another night and left the sheets on the bed and so did the staff when they remade the bed with the wet sheets. The pool was nice to relax by and close to the beach activities, and there were nice restaurants up the road. it would only take a few things to make this hotel much better such as providing the hand towels and face washers and a bit of extra cleaning. ##### Verified traveller ### 2/10 Terrible #### Tim Oct 8, 2011 Liked: Property conditions & facilities Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, room comfort #### Poor service and average location We were very disappointed with the Segara Condotel. Were do I start? We were offered an extra bed for a reasonable fee but were shocked to find it was just a stained old mattress on the floor. That seemed to set the tone for our stay. The rate we paid included a buffet breakfast but it was barely even an American breakfast. It consisted of a tiny sausage, small enough to fit in a desert spoon, a piece of bacon almost the same size , two poached eggs containing pieces of something unidentified, a piece of barely toasted toast and some sliced fruit all served equally cold. After complaining I was told that was a standard “buffet breakfast” at the Segara Condotel. There was mould in the shower, used tissues under the bed and long hair on the bathroom floor; a colour that didn’t belong to any of us. The tissues, mould and hair were all still there 5 days later when we left. Our towels and bedding weren’t changed during our stay and I wonder if they were changed for the next guests. From our balcony we watched a staff member collect the used pool towels. They were folded, rolled and put back on the poolside lounges presumably for the next person. You are probably thinking “Was there anything good about the place?” To be fair the free wifi was OK and the front desk staff were helpful arranging transport. The room was spacious and modern with an equipped kitchen. That’s it for the positives. To sum it up, don’t stay here. There are lots of better places. The view of the beach was awesome. There were just a few problems with our stay. The internet was not working for 4 out of the 6 days that we were there. Normally, this is probably not an issue, but was annoying during our stay. The doors to the patio have space around them so critters are easily able to get in. My laptop computer was in the closet next to the safe and ants got into it (inside the keyboard). We also found a few geckos in the room (one in the bedroom, others in the main room). The water in the shower had major problems -- it would constantly switch between scalding hot and really cold without any change to the knob. It made it annoying to take a shower there. The location was pretty good in some ways. We really enjoyed the area right around the hotel -- it was fairly quiet and there are good warungs nearby. It is far away from the other parts of Bali (about as far as you can get), so it makes it difficult to get to other areas. Drivers don't know where the hotel is, but it was never a problem as long as you explain to them where it is (at the very very end of Jalan Pratama). Overall, a good place, lots of space, great views. If a few of these issues are resolved, it could be a great place. It would be a great place for a family -- lots of room.
