Charming venue. Lovely grounds. Easily one of the most comfortable beds I've experienced. Only complaint is that the tavern was closed until further notice, and there are no dining options nearby, so I didn't eat well. I would definitely come back once the tavern reopens.

I am totally sorry you were not aware that the tavern was not open. It is Well marked on the listing. I wish you had contacted me because there is quite a few eating option nearby. I would definitely would have given you some information to that regard.

I am sorry you did not read the description before booking your reservation. But we don't really deserve a three out of five for the restaurant when it's clearly posted that we don't have one. However I'm glad that you enjoyed the location in your room.

This is a rather rustic accommodation on a lake. The property is very quiet and while the room was somewhat dated, it was very clean. The front desk is not attended, so it is important to notify the owner about arrival time. She is totally fluent in English, although she is French. There are canoes and kayaks to enjoy on the lake, although I didn't use them. There is no food service there, so one has to go to Route 4 where there are several restaurants, unless one brings food to put into the refrigerator in the room. There is a microwave too, which I used, as well as a coffee maker. This property is very convenient to the many antique shops on route 4 "First New Hampshire Turnpike". This was less expensive than staying in Concord and a lot quieter.

If the place was so terrible. Why did you renew for another 2 weeks? I believe this review is based on the fact that I called you on being so dirty. Thinking out five bag of trash and having cat poop on the floor. Is not acceptable

Rustic. Clean. Cant beat this for the price!! All the other hotels were literally 2x as much! Not a luxury hotel, but they don't pretend to be. New bathroom, new floors in room. Microwave, fridge, kerug, small table. There is a pool table, ping pong table, fireplace, couch, and bar in lounge. Not new, but definitely good condition and fun. They even let one of the other guests use the kitchen as long as they cleaned up after themselves!!!!

WE have stayed in many out of the way places in New Hampshire- but never had a text the day of arrival to say- no one will there to welcome you- -check was from 3-9- arrived at 4:30-no one will be on property- key on desk- restaurant closed- A place with 30 rooms- only one other couple there- trash at front door- cigarettes butts at the front- no phone available on property- cell phone service not available- TV required our Apps from home TV -which we don't have- room air conditioner sitting in the floor- room musty and and smelly- contact person rude when we called with questions -NOT handicap or elderly friendly. WE left and found another place to stay- went back around 11:30 next day to pick up something I forgot- when I called contact person did not know we had left =but also claimed that she had picked up dirty towels- lied- WORST place we have ever tried to stay- Expedia- you need to check out the places that you book on line- this is NOT a place to for senior adults- that info should be posted online- Shame on you expedia- and Lake shore Farms

If you had read the description you would know that none of the rooms are handicapped . The restaurant has been posted closed all summer on all the sites. The sign at the desk clearly explain that we do not staff the desk and to call for anything including housekeeping, as we minimize contact. The air conditioners are removed from the window when the temperature drop bellow 45, but left available with the day gets too hot. I had no reason to go in your room and know that you left. sorry you cannot go up 7 steps but next time get informed on where you decide to stay.

Comfy bed but musty room
The bed was very comfortable and warm and there were 4 great pillows however the pillow case was filthy. There were black spots on it that looked like seeds or pin feathers. There were only two towels but no wash cloth. There is no sound insulation and we could not only hear but understand the people in the next room. The entire building smelled musty—age and location by pond being the culprit here. If someone had bad allergies this could have been a real problem. Ultimately I was happy we were just staying one night.

Boring place in the middle of no where!
BORING!!!!!!! This place is close to nothing! The restaurant is not open, no vending machines or ice! There is a cute little area with a fireplace, books, games and a bar area but absolutely nobody there. Felt like we were trespassing being in there! Nobody at the front desk and when the lady showed up it was like we were interrupting her afternoon soap opera watching!

Well Karen excuse me Kathleen, you may want to read the description before making a booking. It clearly states that the restaurant is closed and this is a relaxing space. If you want to party choose something more appropriate. Google map clearly shows where we are located. Furthermore there is only only person due to inablility to find staff so I don't have time to soap opera, naps or day off.

As a throw back to yesteryear, this inn is over it’s prime. Yet, the bed was comfortable, the place is relatively clean, necessities are provided, and the property behind the building is scenic.

I am sorry the property is not modern. It is 160 yrs old and I can only so much at a time. I only owned this property for 2 yrs and it is still a work in progress. I believe that is reflected in the price, which is about half of all other lakefront properties in the state.

The site said pet friendly but when we showed up with our pet we were denied the room and was made to leave . And kept my money for 2 nights .the woman at the desk wasn’t very pleasant right from the start .

I only kept the one night deposit. You reserved a non-pet friendly room and tried to sneak in your cat. Carpeted rooms are not pet friendly and you knew that. I was not unfriendly just not willing to let you have your way. People suffer from allergies and I only allow pets in rooms with hard flooring surfaces. If you had been honest upfront you would have reserved your deposit, but you purposely tried to hide your pet.

Nice location, but no concierge, no breakfast, rooms are not made daily, open 24hrs with no control on access, no phone, TV with no subscription to any channel (not even NBC/ABC/CBS)), You see someone when you arrive( you have to call for somebody to come ), you get a key to the room, you pay at check in, and that is it. Totally abandoned

The description is well posted. NO RESTAURANT NO BREAKFAST. The rooms can be made daily as posted at the check-in desk, all that is required is that you ask. The TV are listed as streaming TV, no cable.People can check-in over a 7hr period of time and I can not be at the desk all the time. We are still enforcing social distancing. The property or our guests are not " abandoned". We are accessable by phone from 8am to 11pm.

He place is off the beaten path. Quiet, beautiful views of the lake. While the building was relatively old, dated and in need of minor repairs, the room was very clean and the beed was more comfortable than most others I have experienced. All in all a goid value fir the money!

A couple of disappointing mentions: The wife and I were in the lounge playing pool, [nice table] but the bartender kept smoking in the back. Got to the point that we had to leave. Also, in the freezer of the in-room mini fridge we found a couple of what looked like hamburgers wrapped in plastic. Must have been there for a while, they were covered frost. Wanted to mention it to staff when we checked out the next morning, but they were nowhere to be found. Tried calling, no answer, no return call.

I am sorry you did not enjoy your stay. However I am a bit confused about your review. We talked on the phone about finding the hamburger in the fridge. I tols you I was sorry about the oversight. I am the only person running this facility and missed it. 'As for the bartender he is allowed to go outside to the smoking section , specially when nobody is purchasing drinks.

Worst experience I ever had on a trip. The room was in bad condition, felt like I was walk ing down hill from one side of the room to the other.They played loud music till 11:00 pm right under my room. Then it was the loud and obnoxious people talking right under my window till 3:30 in the morning. Me and my wife couldn`t spend another night there so we left 1 day earlier and got and found another place to stay at. Never again !!

this is a pretty ridiculous review. you were made aware up on checking that the bar was open until 11 p.m. you were also made aware that they would be probably a little loud and you said it was no problem. as you intended to be down in the tavern yourself. we have had many guests and staff member in that room and no one ever said that the room was a level. It could have been your level of alcohol consumption considering the amount of dead container Left behind for one night. and the facility does not have anything to do with people talking too loud all you have to do as you are instructed to. what's call the front desk so we could at least had a chance to ask those people to quiet down. we have had numerous review and they one has ever claimed that the building was slanted. considering it's a concrete building it's also quite surprising.

Hidden Gem
This place is a hidden gem. Needed to get away and relax. And this place was so perfect. Everyone was so friendly. Place was clean. It is rustic and cozy. The lake was so beautiful. So breath taking. Got up late at night and sat on the back porch and star gazed and watched the shooting stars. Could have sat there for hours. Seen deers. Just so perfect there.

Great value, low key, exceeded our expectations 😊
Hidden gem - not luxurious by any means but beautiful location on the lake, other guests were fun and friendly, and the on-site dinner was incredible. Going back soon!

The place is beautiful outside. Lack of service inside. The room was vary musty. When we left the owners asked what was wrong and walked away. Looks like new people just starting out with the place. They just needs more work. Good luck in the future.

I am truly sorry you did not enjoy your stay. I was not aware that you were leaving until I crossed your pass in the hallway and I was already responding to a plumbing emergency. As you were made aware I am the only person on site due to the inability to find help.

It was a beautiful place, that was in the process of being fixed up, due to Covid, she had no help , no breakfast, no vending machines, no ice. Was looking forward to staying there because they had a restaurant, but it wasn't open. It was very expensive and we had no idea that there was nothing being offered that was on the website, Hotels.com needs to communicate with the hotels better

I am sorry that hotels.com is not updating their site but the 4 rating should be for them not us. The website does states that the restaurant is for Friday and Saturday only by reservation and nowhere does it states that we serve breakfast. We have a sign on the check in desk asking people to call us for anything, I never heard from you. We do have ice and food and soda and a full bar. May be you need to read a full listing before making reservation.

A natural setting and spacious rooms at this homey country inn. We were disappointed that our room was not ready and we were told nothing about the amenities or waterfront access We had to sign COVID-free health statements. But staff wore no masks at check-in & while making up rooms. No visible efforts to disinfect common doors, etc. during the pandemic.

I am sorry your room was not ready but you tried to check in 3 hr early. As for the common area we spray the door handle every 3 hrs. We do not interact with our guests unless we need to do so to minimize contact.

Property was absolutely beautiful. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Things were very limited due to the Coronavirus. I can't wait to go back after things have gotten back to normal and get to sample all they have.
