We enjoyed the quietness and peacefulness of the cabin after we accomplished 10 mile hikes in Yosemite. A quick 40 minute drive to Yosemite’s south entrance! This place is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing time in the woods. The hosts were nothing but amazing and so kind. Oscar showed us around the house on arrival and was such a pleasure to work with. Bass Lake is close by for dinner or a quick dip in the lake. Oscar even purchased a cooler so we could take our lunches and drinks on our outings. The house was 20 minutes from Oakhurst, about 10 to Northfork, and 60 to Fresno. Yosemite south entrance was also close. The layout of the house was good. Two separate zones for privacy. You could sleep a small army in all the beds, futons and sofas. Bathrooms worked well. View was great. Some days the mosquitoes made the deck unusable. Windy days helped with that. Lots of cute quail, and deer on property. The only issues were the furnishings. Most of the beds were uncomfortable for me, and some of the sofas could be replaced. Kitchen is ready for new appliances, and cookware. We mostly made breakfasts, packed lunches and ate out dinner, so not a real issue for us. Coyote Taco was a great place to eat and visit with locals. Also South Gate brewery was great for beer and appetizers. Oakhurst Grill at the Best Western was surprisingly good. We allso loved Smokehouse 44, but it seemed pricey. The location, views and privacy made this a great house for visiting Yosemite. Having fishing poles, trekking poles and bikes would be handy to use. We flew and couldn't bring those with us. This house would be great for a bigger family getaway. Room to spread out, and for kids to run outside. We spread out as much a three adults could, and we ran around outside some also. We didn't spend a lot of time at the cabin but we enjoyed the peace and quiet as this location is pretty isolated. Our 4 year old enjoyed the swing and my daughter in law watched the sunrise and exercised on the deck. The central ac was very refreshing and worked well...
