THE SPACE Nestled in a quiet neighborhood in Norfolk, this home offers all the comforts of home and easy access to the best of what the city has to offer. Garage is off limits to guests. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE / HOUSE RULES There are cameras on the exterior of the home. They are motion activated, records video and audio, and are active during reservations. There is also a decibel monitoring device located in the home. This is a smart device that measures decibel levels only and allows us to respond to extremely loud and sustained volumes. It does NOT record conversation, it only measures decibel levels. This helps us to avoid unauthorized parties. Our goal is for our guests and neighbors to both have an enjoyable experience! \*No smoking allowed (weed or cigarettes) - evidence will incur a $500 minimum fine. Please smoke away from the home away from windows or doors and dispose of cigarette butts properly. \*Any visitors must also be listed in the guest count. Minimum fine of $50 per person per night will apply for any undisclosed guests. The city is strict about maximum occupancy including visitors and we cannot allow more than the maximum guest count at any one time. \*Please observe a 9 p.m.- 8 a.m. quiet hour for our neighbors. They are our utmost priority to continue to operate short term rentals for years to come. Noise violations are taken seriously and will have one courtesy warning before removal without repayment for nights unspent. \*Our place is not for parties. $500 minimum fine for parties. A party is defined by any more than the maximum amount of occupants in the home at any one time (guest maximum can be found in the listing). No refund will be given for nights unspent if we are forced to terminate the reservation due to a party. We want you to have a great time with up to the maximum number of guests in the house, including any visitors. This is a residential area and our neighbors rely on us not to disrupt the community. We want to continue to do short term rentals for a long time so please help us respect our neighbors. \*Please note while the home is cleaned very thoroughly between stays and air filters changed regularly, we may allow dogs at the home. Those with severe allergies will need to consider our home’s suitability for their unique needs. \*No refunds will be given for COVID-19 or weather related cancellations including hurricanes. Please consider purchasing trip insurance that covers any unforeseen circumstances. Please note during hurricane season our area is prone to inclement weather. \*$75 per hour charge for not checking out on time. Please communicate if you need more time, if we can accommodate we will not charge a fee. \*If our property has a grill, please clean after use to avoid an extra $75 grill cleaning charge. \*Ice makers and fireplaces are an extra amenity and no refunds will be given if they are not functioning properly. \*To maintain a fair and comfortable environment for all guests, we ask that utilities (electricity, water, gas, etc.) be used responsibly. If there is evidence of excessive utility consumption beyond normal use for the duration of your stay, we reserve the right to charge additional fees for the excess usage. These charges will be calculated based on actual costs incurred and will be billed to the guest. \*No paper towels or wipes (including flushable wipes) are allowed down the drains. If a plumber needs to fix an issue caused by the aforementioned items and reasons, the cost will be billed back to the guest. \*Guest agrees to complete a third party encrypted ID verification independent of the platform booked on for security purposes. If the guest does not complete the verification or the host is not comfortable with the screening results, host may cancel the reservation with full refund to the guest. \*Any cleaning or maintenance issues must be addressed to the host. We must be able to attempt to fix the issue before offering refunds. If an issue is not addressed during the stay, no refunds will be provided. \*Please note lawn care and trash service may come on the premises during your stay. Dogs must be supervised when in the backyard and may not be left in the backyard unattended. A $75 pet waste fee will be applied if pets are not cleaned up after. Farther from the beach than planned but so worth it! It was clean, had a large driveway so I didn't have to worry about maneuvering or backing a 6' trailer. The house is close to everything you might need. There were TVs if you wanted to watch. The kitchen seemed to have most of what you'd need if cooking/making drinks, etc. appliances were modern and clean. Beds were comfortable, linens clean and in good condition. Shower had great pressure! Fenced backyard was huge for our furbabies, there was a large grill we didn't utilize. Neighborhood was beautiful and quiet. It was about a 3 minute drive to Bay Oaks Park where we parked to walk over to the beach. You could also walk dogs to a closer beach in about 20 minutes. This was a gem of a find and we were lucky it was available on short notice. We also found a pet sitter through Rover who was close & willing to watch the dogs while we got our boat tour in. ##### melanie d. The attention to detail was phenomenal. There was plenty of room for our 2.and 3yo to move about and play. The main bedroom downstairs had a queen sized bed, a chest, a dresser, a recliner, and still had plenty of room for 2 pack-and-plays. Amenities included: 4 rolls of toulet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dish soap, dishwasher liquid, full-sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. One closet surprised is with beach towels, beach chairs, and an umbrella! We loves the back deck and yard space. Perfect for playing cards while.our boys ran aroubd with their balls and bubbles. Neighborhood was quiet and safe. We were 11 minutes from the VA Zoo, Walmart, and a plethera of restaurants. Only a 25 minute drive to VA beach. Cant say enough positive things about this property. Cute little home with all the modern conveniences in a nice neighborhood. Kitchen was modern with a lot of storage space and the bedrooms were the perfect size. The home had a really nice deck and back yard and the property manager was very attentive and stayed in contact with us during our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. ##### chris s. Everything we needed to feel comfortable. Especially love the soft soap provided in kitchen and bathroom. Communication with owner was easy and they responded quickly when I contacted them about a small issue with birds building a nest in the dryer vent. Didnt want any birds to be injured. Fenced in backyard was great for our four legged family member. Suggestions for local restaurants and attractions were very helpful. Would definitely stay at this home again. ##### Melissa M.
