If serenity, the sound breeze, and some much-needed seclusion are what you are after, there is no better place than Marrowstone Island Beach Cabin! This getaway is a mix of rustic charm and natural beauty boasting sweeping views of the Puget Sound from the spacious back deck, you will have no trouble slipping into relaxation with a glass of wine or your favorite cocktail in hand while listening to the sound of lapping water in the distance with views of Port Townsend Ferry from Coupville. Though everyone will be drawn to the outdoors, any downtime spent inside will be just as enjoyable with the amazing vaulted ceilings, natural light, and spacious layout that is ready to accommodate the whole family. When everyone builds up an appetite, simply hop into the full kitchen and make some homemade comfort food for the whole gang before breaking out some board games at the dining table. Not to mention, the two TVs and a new couch can come in handy for a movie night with the whole gang before dozing off in one of the two perfect bedrooms. A new heating and cooling system allows you to sleep in comfort no matter your preferred temperature. Free WiFi is available, making working remotely easy if the need arises. Perched on the northern end of Marrowstone Island, you will have plenty of peace and quiet. When you want to venture out a bit, you won't have to go far for a day of hiking and sightseeing, as Fort Flagler Historical State Park is just a mile from your front door. Head to the southern portion of the island and you will find a local Nordland general store to stock up on needs, a trail to the beach to spend warm afternoons on, and even a local vineyard to indulge in wine tasting. There is also a boat launch and kayaks for rent on the island if you are feeling adventurous. Fine dining and charm are only 19 miles away in historical Port Townsend. Play 18 holes at the Port Ludlow Golf Course only about 20 miles away. THINGS TO KNOW Netflix and HBO streaming via guest account. A queen sofabed in the living provides an extra sleeping space. Age-appropriate games, books, and toys are available for younger guests. Parking notes: There is free parking available for 3 vehicles. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) It is a good location to see all that the Port Townsend area and the Olympic National Park has to offer without being in the hustle and bustle. We took day trips (whale watching with Puget Sound Express 5 Stars) and returned to the tranquility of this rental. If you are interested in fine dining close by, that is not available. The kitchen is equipped so you can prepare your own meals. The outdoor gas grill is is a few steps from the kitchen. The QFC is 15 minutes away and is a complete food store with many options. The available produce along with the fish and meat counter took care of all of our needs. They also had a decent wine selection. So thoughtful to have throw blankets in the living room. Good instructions. The video for the keyless lock was very helpful - it took us awhile to get the hang of it. The only minor annoyances were plugged dispensers. We had to push so hard to get any shampoo or soap out! Also 10 am check out was an hour too early. The furnishings are comfy and even though it feels remote, we still had good wifi and television, although there are too many outdoor activities and games provided here to care about that! Lots of wild life. Kitchen is well appointed but needs a coffee grinder. The park on the island has wonderful walks. You need to know that there is no local host, it is a corporation...so that is different from the warmth of a host. They are very responsive, yet not local. We made a few suggestions that we hope they implement. The down stairs is somewhat damp and needs a good dehumidifier. & Unless they get new bedding, if you love good sheets, bring your own. we asked them to assure us they would take car of this, so we needn't leave it in the review, but they haven't done that. Cooked several meals and the kitchen was well stocked. King bed was comfortable. Would have been nice to have a foldable suitcase stand in the bedroom. Saw deer and herons on the property. No mosquitoey was fantastic. Only thing that was a concern was some of the carpets were stained or dirty.
