We really enjoyed our stay at Vistamar. The apartment was located about 15 min walk into town but about 2 mins from a beach. The apartment was well equipped and was very spacious for 2 people. The apartment without sea view is comfortable and clean. The beds are good but the pillows are not. Unfortunately the cafe is closed during the week and the nearest one is a 15 minute walk away. We were offered an upgrad to a sea view room which was a beautiful view but we still had to pay the upgrade charge . Our apartment was spacious and comfortable, everything we needed was here. Enjoyed the balcony at the back of the hotel, peacefully looking towards the sea. Between my basic Spanish and their basic English, communication with the hotel staff was fine. Daily housekeeping if you want it. There is a cafe and small shop on site. No problems parking on the street. San Jose itself is a lovely pueblo with great beaches, interesting shops and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. We also walked from the hotel around the cliff path to Playa de los Genoveses - where it feels like the world is a million miles away (you can also drive there for 5 euro parking fee). I could stop looking out the window and sitting in the porch. There was someone at the reception to provide keys and instructions on parking. There was a washing machine in the apartment, but didn’t have detergent. I should have probably brought some with me, but wish they had some to buy at the desk or in the vending machine. Otherwise, awesome.
