The house was amazing. Everything about it was reminiscent of the time I spend growing up in the area. The furnishings and decor were well matched to the age and character of the property. There was a real feel of living in a mansion yet not in a way that made you feel apprehensive about having children in there. The house was full of decorative furniture, ornaments, artifacts and games and we felt instantly at home. The kitchen was very well equipped and it was a pleasure to cook on the range. Yes, the house has it's quirks and imperfections but they all serve to make it more homely and inviting. Max was an excellent host. He made us all feel very welcome and took time to explain some of the history of the property to us and also show us the wine cellar. The grounds of the property were equally amazing with an abundance of walks and activities to embark on. ##### Elinor F. We had a fantastic time at your beautiful lodge, it was just what the family needed. From my 72 year old parents to my 5 year old granddaughter there was plenty for everyone and in such fantastic surroundings from the lodge with its spacious rooms and many activity’s that are provided to the beautiful surrounding gardens and walks. The facilities within the lodge were fantastic and it did not take long for my husband and myself to fall in love with the range. The rooms where so homely and welcoming but still very grand and everyone was fascinated going from room to room and looking at all the interesting items used to decorate the lodge, it made for very interesting treasure hunts within the lodge to keep the children occupied when the adults wanted some quiet time, Hide and seek is also a must. The lack of internet, and phone signal was an added bonus and helped the family reconnect and spend quality time together which is difficult in modern living.
