In other ways, one star. We stayed in the apartment above the lodge. In certain ways it was definitely one of the nicest places we've ever rented. Very comfortable and well equipped with an outstanding view of Sunday River. Convenient for skiing, hiking, and Bethel. Anyone renting this apartment must be aware of the fact, however, that directly below is a "lodge" capable of housing 8 people. The first night we were there the group renting the lodge returned at approximately 10:00\. It was pretty loud below us and I contacted the owner to see if the group knew there were people in the apartment above. She indicated that they did know we were there. It didn't matter. The yelling and music began and didn't end until between 7:00 -8:00 am the next morning. Yes, all night. The only thing separating us from the party was a single interior door at the top of the stairs leading down to the lodge. No effort toward sound proofing at all. Anyone renting the apartment should know that they are at the mercy of the group below in terms of noise. Thankfully the party group left the next day (and lodge was unrented for the week) and we enjoyed a beautiful week in the apartment. ##### fred R. Property is just as described, close to everything and very cozy. The only drawback was that strong wind on the metal roof is very loud and can be a bit frightening for a child at night but we only experienced that one night of our trip. Just a few minutes drive to Sunday River's South Ridge Lodge and amazing views of the mountain from this property. We'd definitely stay here again. WiFi was a little spotty but I guess that's to be expected in the mountains. Bring your own kleenex, hair dryer, extra toilet paper, paper towels, and a non-stick skillet (if you plan to cook eggs for breakfast).
