The room was recently remodeled and done very tastefully. Main concern was the property was right on the highway which resulted in a fair amount of truck noise. Also, access coming from Newport at night was difficult to see, particularly when there was traffic. This is a hidden gem on the coast. If you like waking to the sound a waves on the sand and walking on a semi private the beach then this is a must stay. The beach is just down the steps from your room basically. Yes the property is older, but the staff keeps the rooms clean and updated and honestly the real beauty is the ocean. We were not in the very cute themed rooms much since the ocean, hikes, and whales called to our adventure. We extended our stay because it was so nice. We had the safari room then the whale room. Both had their own charms, but we loved the whole ocean view the best. It's a short 5 min drive to Newport for food, shopping, tourist stuff or 10 min to Depot Bay for tourist stuff and whale watching.
