Newark International Airport (EWR) is a short distance away. Hospital, bus stop, and convenience stores within walking distance. Each bedroom has a work desk and chair. There is also a large kitchen and a comfortable living room with a Roku TV. No parties, events, or smoking of any kind -- this is strictly enforced. This is the entire first floor of a 3-story house. Each floor is its own private apartment. This first floor apartment has its own entry door for added privacy. You can walk or drive around the neighborhood quite easily. Street parking is not too difficult and there are no permits necessary for street parking. Please pay attention to any posted parking restrictions (e.g. street cleaning) as we cannot be responsible for your vehicle parked on the street. Thank you. This is a historic neighborhood with mostly working families living there. Weequahic Park nearby is large and has many places to walk, jog, ride bikes, play tennis, and there is also a golf course there. NJ Transit Bus No. 107 stops 6 blocks away from the house and takes you to 42nd St Manhattan NYC in about 40 minutes. The bus costs $8 per person. You can use NJ Transit Bus No. 39 to reach Newark Penn Station in about 20 minutes and it costs $3.00 per person. NJ Transit Bus No. 37 connects you with Newark Airport (EWR) and takes about 15 minutes and costs $3.00 per person. Please check the New Jersey Transit website for updated bus pricing. The prices provided here are simply a guide and there may be new pricing depending on when you stay. The amenities that are listed at the time you book the unit are the amenities provided. Please review this list of amenities before booking. Self check-in and check-out are available. There is a lockbox with keys at the entry door to the building. We will send you the code to the lock box on the day of your arrival. The check-in window is 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm. If you are planning to arrive after 11:00 pm, you must clear this with us. No one will be available to support you during check-in if you arrive very late at night (after 11:00 pm) and we will not give refunds if you have issues checking in after 11:00 pm. Early check-in and late check-out are not available. The property does not have luggage storage. There is 1 parking space available in the driveway and the cost is $20 per night to use it. We have multiple units in the building so please inquire if you are interested in parking and we will let you know if it is available. The space may not be available during your travel dates so please check with us before booking. Parking needs to be paid in advance by credit card or it will not be reserved for you. Please also note that this apartment is located in an older building. Some recent guests have arrived with higher expectations than what we can provide given the age of the building. The apartment looks like the photos in the listing and we keep it clean. It is a basic space with basic amenities. If you are looking for a functional and competitively priced place close to New York City and Newark Airport (EWR), this would be a good space for you. If you are looking for a modern and luxury stay, this is probably not the place for you. We also just want to make clear that you are renting an apartment and not a hotel room. There are many differences between apartments and hotels, and some newer guests may not realize it. Hotels are large and often have many rooms, and the ability to change your room should issues arise. Hotels also have staff 24/7 that can help you with every issue or questions that you may have. On the other hand, we are a small operation and manage our listings to the best of our ability. We try hard to create a good experience for guests. We are including this disclaimer here because we have recently seen a rise in guests that seem to view our listing as very similar to a hotel, but in reality it is quite different. Guests are responsible for bagging all garbage and placing the bags in the bins outside the building, or at the curb, as instructed by the host (host will communicate with guest regarding this). If your unit has a thermostat and the thermostat is locked, do not tamper with it or try to break open the lock. Doing so is called vandalism and is highly inappropriate. We will withhold your security deposit if you do this and possible submit for more damages depending on the situation. Also, guests must leave the apartment in the condition they found it (e.g. no leftover food, nothing that creates a need for excessive or deep cleaning). Please wash all dishes that you use, remove food that you\`ve brought in, and discard all trash. Our cleaning fee is lower than most and it covers basic cleaning tasks like washing of linens and towels, vacuuming, etc. The cleaning fee does not cover deep cleaning, excessive kitchen and bathroom cleaning, etc. Thanks for your cooperation! If you check out late, there will be a $100 per hour fee for each hour or fraction of an hour that you stay beyond the check out time. If you smoke, use incense, use drugs of any kind (including marijuana and cannabis) anywhere on the property including outside areas and common areas, we will charge a $300 fee. Sep 3, 2024 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, listing accuracy Disliked: Location #### Short & Pleasant stay in Newark My family and I needed a place to stay for 2 nights while we did some activities in the Northeast NJ/NYC area, and we figured that a home with 3 bedrooms would be better than a single room in a motel/hotel. We were right! The home wasn't in the best neighborhood, but it was well guarded with steel doors, plenty of exterior lights, and cameras all over to deter anyone who might look to cause trouble. We felt safe. Since it was Newark, we expected a tight apartment, but it was very spacious. The beds were comfy; good shower pressure and the water was good (no hard water); kitchen was equipped with everything you need to cook and eat; fireplace was cool and added a nice touch to the living room; and the TV had a bunch of streaming services so you could watch whatever you like. Andy (the owner) was also kind enough to allow us to use the driveway which was a great bonus. Andy's communication is top notch as he responds within minutes of messaging. Ich wollte fristgerecht stornieren und angeblich hatte der Vermieter Probleme mit seinem System. Nachvollziehen konnte Vrbo das nicht. Am Schluß wurde ich vom Anbieter sogar beleidigt und musste auf anraten von Vrbo die Kreditkartenfirma einschalten, um meine Rückzahlung zu erhalten. Das Angebot ist dubios. Die Adresse erfährt man erst nach der Buchung. Wir haben uns aus Neugier dort mal umgeschaut und die Lage ist nicht wirklich gut. Auch die gesamte Abwicklung über einen weiteren externen Anbieter ist dubios. Auch auf die Gefahr hin, dass diese WARNUNG am Ende entfernt wird, möchte ich noch mitteilen, dass auch Vrbo nicht wirklich eine große Hilfe war.
