Charming boutique hotel on the east side between Park and Lexington. Fairly convenient to Theater District - about a 20 minute walk. Area is safer and quieter than midtown west side. However there are fewer dining and shopping options in the immediate area after normal business hours. Room size is adequate and rooms are appointed nicely with 2 free bottles of water daily. Room was cleaned everyday in the afternoon while I was out - very convenient. Had problem with air conditioning being too cold when I checked in. Engineering came up promptly, but took several tries before they resolved the problem. Indicated that I was not completely satisfied with the room on my Expedia initial impressions survey. Manager called the next morning to inquire about what he could do to improve my stay. I explained the A/C problem and let him know it was resolved. He indicated he would take off 2 days of the resort fee for my inconvenience. I thought that was a very nice gesture. However, it did not happen. My final bill included all fees for all days. Didn't have time or energy to fight for it. Good price for New York. Would stay here again if I couldn't find anything at a reasonable price closer to the Theater District. Staff was very nice.

Staff was great. The Concierge Peter was extremely friendly and able to answer my questions about the area and hotel. Housekeeping staff was amazing also. The room was clean, well stocked with toiletries, and had a very easy to control temperature touch pad. Guests were also friendly.

We had an issue with the air conditioning in our room and it was resolved quickly. Our room did have some stains in the carpet but otherwise clean, large and comfortable. Excellent location. Loved our stay and would stay again.

Even if our hotel room didn't have brown liquid stains all over the walls, or a bathroom so small that only 1 person could stand in there at a time, or a room so cramped that you couldn't actually sit in the chair at the desk because pulling it out hit the bed, or cable TVs so old that you couldn't even get a guide channel, I would STILL tell you not to stay here because management is greedy and cowardly. We had to leave 1 day early due to a personal nightmare - our sitter lost our dog thousands of miles away, and they weren't able to find her after hours of searching. We have proof of the situation from various report filings & heavily shared social media posts. I was sobbing when notifying 3 different hotel staff members what was happening & explained that we had to fly home early to find our dog. This was our worst case scenario - we were supposed to be enjoying our anniversary! NONE of the staff even tried to help us directly; they brushed us off saying "Expedia would be the one to refund us" & to "call Expedia". We learned this WAS the hotel's choice, but they didn't want to tell us directly that they weren't going to approve a refund. Expedia attempted to explain the situation to hotel management several times over a few days. Ultimately, The Renwick made the choice NOT to give us a refund for the ONE day we left early, even given the situation!! We have called the hotel numerous times & left a message since, & they won't call us back. This place is GROSS!

The guest did not complain to us about the room or service defects that we could have fixed immediately or offer an upgrade while she was at the property. We are sorry she had to leave early but we are unable to refund the night.

This was my second visit to The Renwick and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The desk staff could not be any friendlier or helpful.They are truly kind humans. Our room was clean, the bed super soft, the shower hot with good water pressure and we were lucky enough to have a view of the Empire State Building! The location is unbeatable. 2 blocks to Grand Central and 3 blocks to Bryant Park. We felt very safe as well. I will definitely stay here again. Thank you!

Front desk staff was awesome and accommodating let us check in early free of charge and gave us a higher floor room complimentary water in room Fresh towels everyday Location is perfect 2 blocks away from grand central Stayed in Times Square before, this area was way more quiet and more safe feeling. Nice hotel. Convenient to Grand Central, good restaurants. Bit of a walk to 5th Ave. Room was nice but we were put on the 2nd floor above the bar. Could hear pounding music through the floor. Would recommend the hotel but not the 2nd floor. Mistake on checking in as we were first assigned a room that already was occupied. They did fix it immediately. Staff was very nice.

The Renwick is a great deal. The price is reasonable for a NY hotel and the room size is better than others we've stayed in. You are so close to everything, including tons of transit options. You're two blocks to Grand Central Station, minutes away from The Summit, Bryant Park and so many other things. The room was very clean and well maintained. There are plenty of food choices in the area. Oh, and the morning coffee there was fantastic. The staff were all very nice and helpful. You won't find a better deal.

Great location, wonderful shower and cloud comfort bed. Right next to Grand Central Station and lots of great breakfast places and shopping options. Complimentary water most appreciated! No breakfast as part of the stay, and no tea or coffee options in the room. The television is very basic and not SMART. For a hotel this iconic they should have better stationery than just an old fashioned pencil!

I loved everything about this this property! The only reason they did not get 5s all the way arcoss the board is they need to have coffee out at 5 or 6 am, not say 7am, and it be 730. I feel like they should of mentioned the coffee shop next door when you are inquiring about coffee at 630am. Minor to most but a big deal to me. Other than coffee it was wonderful. Location was amazing and we were able to valet park with them which was also very important. Area was quiet and safe. Thank you for a great stay, I definitely recommend the Renwick Hotel!

It was my first experience to visit US. The access from/to JFK is very easy, and also that from/to Grand Central station is easy. All staff were so kind that I felt comfortable during my stay in NY. Thanks!

It is a short walk to Grand Central Station, and so it is a gateway to anywhere in NYC. There was some miscommunication between the day staff and night staff about how to divide the bill, and they fixed a couple of minor maintenance issues in our room during our stay. Overall, a very nice older hotel. Nice people.
