The hotel is well located, but the bed isn't very thick. I left with a sore back as a souvenir of NY. I didn't feel safe in the shower. There is no lock and the windows are transparent. The breakfast is outrageous. If you can call it breakfast. I was in a room with 2 pods, so I only had to share the room with one other person at a time, and the cohabitation always went well. The room is tiny, but there is a locker to store valuable items in (you have to bring your own lock). Every member of the staff I met was always friendly and helpful. My main complaint would be the noise: as others before me have already mentioned, the ventilation in the pods is very loud. Also, whenever the central heating was turned on, the pipes would make a huge banging sound on and off for hours in the middle of the night. The showers were clean and had hot water, but I found it a bit odd to have mirrors facing the shower doors, which were glazed but still too see-through in my opinion. It would also be nice to add hooks in the toilets and near the sinks. All in all, I felt safe, the hostel is in a nice neighborhood and right next to Central Park, the subway is a few minutes away. Staff was friendly, seamless checkin, loved my capsule (1 in 6 bed). There is no elevator but I lucked out not having to climb the stairs. Bring in the capsule took getting used to (5 ft 5) not too narrow like twin bed size. It was convenient to the subway station but note C & B trains do not run late (B) not on weekends which I didn’t realize. Great for a quick overnight and would highly recommend. The hearing got noisy here and there through the night but I appreciated the clean, safe environment plus private toilet for our room. The lockers in the room are small and space is tight.
