False advertising, actually a hostel with shared bathrooms. Hostels are fine, but for 200$ a night a person wants a private bathroom. The person checking me in claimed that the hostel proceeds go towards feeding the homeless, but aren't there better things you can do for the homeless besides be a landlord in Chelsea? Most rooms are on a several floor walk up with no elevator, so beware if you have disabilities or many bags. There was noise from the front door opening and slamming from staff or guests coming and going, seemingly all night long, making a restful night’s sleep, all but impossible. I would have brought my own wash cloth had I known one would not be provided, but as the desk attendant told me, he has never used one himself.
