Nestled right on the world-class non-driving Bethune Beach, you will spend your time here enjoying the sand, sun, and beauty of Bethune Beach. Watch the sunrise on your own deck with steps which lead right into the ocean. As you go down those steps, you see just 75 yards away Canaveral National Seashore, a wild 24-mile barrier island which is a protected bird sanctuary and turtle nesting area. Canaveral National Seashore also holds many Timucuan Indian archaeological sites. Watch the sunset over the Indian River, a pristine nature habitat just 70 yards away where manatees and dolphins abound. Enjoy your stay in a remodeled kitchen furnished with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, hickory cabinets, and a granite peninsula with stools for a perfect breakfast nook. Just 78-79 miles, a one hour and twenty minutes drive, from Universal Studios and Disney World. (depending upon traffic) Your bathrooms were completely remodeled with granite topped vanities, a double-shower downstairs, tub upstairs, and a shower in the third bathroom. Rest in four rooms with a small fifth room, all with top-of-the-line bedding in all rooms. Relax inside with digital entertainment available in multiple rooms. You find a 55 inch 4K smart tv with HDR equipped with a digital antenna and blu-ray/DVD player with internet streaming capabilities in the living room upstairs and a 50" in the entertainment room downstairs. Also, in the family bedroom you find a 32" HD television equipped with digital antenna, blu-ray/DVD player and internet streaming capabilities. Access the internet using Wifi both upstairs and downstairs. During the day have fun at the nearby family-friendly Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park where the little ones can play at the recently upgraded playground, and you can play tennis, volleyball, or basketball. Later, fish for your dinner at the riverfront pier or instead enjoy your dinner at JB's Fish Camp. Later start a new adventure when you rent paddle boards or kayaks at JB’s. Forgot your fishing gear? No problem, just rent it at JB’s. Later you go into nearby New Smyrna Beach to visit the museum and find out more of the history of New Smyrna, which is the second oldest city in Florida, and visit the Sugar Mill ruins and the Old Fort. The views from the dining room and porches were beautiful. The home is very spacious and everyone had plenty of room to relax and have fun. The furnishings and appliances were all new and very nice. The home was newly renovated and beautifully done. There was plenty of room for all of us. We used the kitchen for nearly every meal during our stay because we didn't want to leave! The beach was absolutely amazing-so close to Canaveral national seashore. We are at BJs fish camp right down the road one night and drove about an hour to Disney one day but had the best time on our own private beach. We decided to visit the other side of Florida this year and this is where we ended up. I am glad we chose this house as it was, just recently, very nicely renovated. New furniture, new appliances, and more. The location is perfect. It is close to markets so it's easy to stock up on what we needed for the week as well as making a quick run for something we forgot for the evening meal, etc. yet not in the middle of busy tourist traffic. Having the bottom floor being totally separate gave family members more privacy. Having our own private beach was remarkable, and so near the Canaveral National Seashore made for great morning walks along the beach. We had hoped to see a rocket launch but unfortunately it was cancelled. Plenty of shopping and restaurants nearby but having the full kitchen, we cooked/grilled many of our meals at home. The home is spacious and well equipped and it is situated on a quiet section of New Smyrna Beach. While there, we traveled to Daytona Beach, Disney, Universal, and Kennedy Space Center and spent a few days just relaxing on the beach. The home is equipped with beach chairs and boogie boards which we used quite a bit. We also spent a morning kayaking on the river and got up close and personal with dolphins and manatees. Rented this home with some of my large family and had a wonderful time. Owner is GREAT to work with and very accommodating. Plenty of square feet for a lot of people and neat sun deck for private sun bathing. Super close to the ocean with beautiful views! One thing I don't remember reading from the description is that to get from the downstairs rooms to upstairs, the stairs are outside. No big deal, but just something helpful if planning a stay with small children. We are hoping to come back later this year and stay again. :) ##### Paulette D. The owner is great with communication along the way and during the stay. . .A+ Rooms and beds were as described. Very comfortable beds. I would have appreciated thicker pillows, however. No issues whatsoever with technology. Appreciated the bigger screen tvs for those rainy times! The kids loved the bunk room. We did all learn about the no-see-ums in Florida. We got hit pretty hard. But, even that did not stop us from having the vacation we were all hoping for. JB's Fish became our daily journey--right down the street. Delicious and reasonably priced. My family had a super vacation at Tammy's home the week of July 4th. There was plenty of room. The whole family could fit on the enormous couch-though we didn't spend much time there. We spent almost all of our time down on the sand or on the decks. The beach location was awesome- I only left to go to the grocery store. The house had plenty of supplies, dishes, towels, and beach gear - chairs, towels,boogie boards, skim boards, toys etc.). The kids enjoyed the new boogie boards that arrived while we were there! It was truly a treat to be able to watch the sun rise over the sea and the dolphins swim by each morning. Tammy was wonderful and readily available for questions. Jan 3, 2018 #### Enjoyed our stay, House was well equipped We had 6 adults and 3 children stay here. The home was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had plenty of towels and dishes, having 3 showers/bathrooms was very much a plus also. We never needed to have Tammy address any issues the whole time we stayed. We did have one request and that was for a Xmas tree, and Tammy went and got one for the house, before our arrival so Thank You for that ;) The only thing we needed to purchase was groceries because she pretty much had everything else there. The grill was brand new, everyone spent most of their time outside. The no-seeum bugs were a bit of nuisance in the early morning but they disappeared once the sun came out and warmed things up. The children loved the beach and couldn’t get enough of playing in the waves and with Tammy’s beach toys. We thought it was a great location away from the hustle and bustle. It just doesn't get more secluded or picturesque than this! This house is located right on the beach, quite literally across an almost no traffic street from the Indian River. We took a pontoon boat ride on the river and saw manatees and bottle nose dolphins (both live in the river year round) as well as countless birds - heron, osprey, bald eagles, egrets. The house has two decks beachside and one riverside. So you can catch sunsets and sunrises. The only thing that would have been nice to have, but not necessary, is a table with an umbrella or some other partial cover for those of us who want to be out on the deck, but not in full sun. But that's not a complaint, just a suggestion. This review would not be complete without a 5 star thank you to Tammy for being such a great host and making everything so easy. ##### Laura C. There were 11 of us total staying here for a family vacation and we had a great time. The house is incredibly well-appointed and had everything we could need. The beach was awesome! We saw a few other people from other houses but overall there were very few people and we had the beach to ourselves many times. There were several boogie boards, chairs and tubes in the garage for guests to use. The kids loved surfing the waves and building sand castles with the sand toys. Beds were comfy and the house was clean. We did notice some trash (like wrappers, paper pieces) under some of the beds and the owner sent the cleaning crew out to take care of it. Tammy was very responsive and incredibly helpful. Our only complaint, which has NOTHING to do with the house or the owner, was the no-see-ums that were in abundance. A couple of us were covered in bites before we had realized what happened. The owner did let us know she provided some thermacells to help with this as they are particularly bad this year. Again, not a complaint against the owner or location by any means, but good to know if you plan to go in August! Don't hesitate to book this place! You won't regret it! ##### Krista G.
