We brought 4 generations (ages 4 to 82) to the property for our annual family vacation. This one was definitely the best one we’ve ever had! The property was more than we could have dreamed of. The stocked lake was perfect for the fishermen in our group! The kids enjoyed strolling around the lake in the canoe while doing some fishing too. The chickens and ducks were hours of fun for the old and young. Fresh eggs for breakfast each day was a fantastic perk! The “surprise” in the freezer upon arrival was the best and sweetest thing. I won’t ruin the fun and tell what it was, but trust me, it will be worth the wait. We all enjoyed some time in the game room, playing ping pong, shuffle board, and foosball! We made s’mores at the fire pit, grilled burgers on the new gas grills, lounged in the great room, and enjoyed some much needed porch sitting! The owner and farm manager went above and beyond to answer any questions we had about the area. We rented a pontoon just minutes down the road, had a wonderful dinner at the same marina. Not to mention how well kept the house, game room, and the entire property was. 100% loved every moment and everything about the place! ##### Bonnie S. We brought our infant and was surprised to see a high chair available on location. Our two teenagers enjoyed the upstairs cubby beds and large farm grounds to roam. The younger kids slept in the bunk beds. My elderly Mother-in-law was comfortable on the collapsible futon on the main floor next to the fireplace; all bedrooms are located upstairs. There is a bathroom on both floors. There is an adjacent building converted to a game room with table tennis and shuffleboard, as well as its own bathroom. We utilized the kitchen facilities to prepare a Thanksgiving feast for the holiday and it was well-furnished. There is also a laundry room if you will be having an extended stay. There was a wine chiller and an outdoor deck firepit for roasting marshmallows. All of this with a great view of the farm hills and pond. A lot of thought was put into comfort and entertainment for the location. The host was very responsive to communications and questions. ##### Joseph H. The property was beautiful, and the house was very nice. There was plenty of sleeping space for everyone. The only issue was it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned when we arrived. There were dead insects everywhere, mouse droppings in the kitchen, and there was bird poop all over the table on the front porch. Once we told the property manager, he did send someone to clean the next day. Otherwise the stay was very nice. Our kids enjoyed the pond and walking around the property. ##### Sheena H. Wonderful front porch and the game room was a big hit with the teens. The kitchen was a little small but we did not bring a lot of things to cook. The owner Shawn provides farm fresh eggs so we did cook breakfast! And it does give you a farm experience with great amenities. We will be back to stay at this property. ##### rob H. The property is even better than I expected, beautiful land with so much to do and the house itself was awesome! Tons of room, clean, had everything we needed. Our host was super friendly and came by in the morning to check-in and help us get fresh eggs from the chicken coop and provided great recommendations for things to do in the area. There was plenty of hot water, the water pressure was great. The kitchen is very small and not well stocked. There was only one tablespoon and one mixing spoon, no teaspoons. There is plenty of space to sit outside and relax. The kids liked feeding the chickens and playing in the game room. One catfish was caught in the pond, there was no sandy area. There is a kayak and canoe for the kids to play with. The owner was quick to respond to questions. ##### Leann M. My daughter was at Carson-Newman for a few days and we came along to care for her11 month old while she was at school. Baby loved the chickens and cows and picking sunflowers and watching the birds. We loved our stay here, from the multiple places the kids wanted to sleep each night (cubbies, extra bedroom, bunk room) to chasing chickens, learning how to take care of them and the kids making sure they had water and checked the eggs every afternoon for breakfast the next morning, they loved it. Kids loved kayaking and canoeing on the pond as well as fishing. Super close to black oak marina to rent a pontoon for the day...highly reccomend, only an hour from pigeon forge/ gatlinburg which made for a fun day trip all while soaking in a quiet farm setting and a game room which the kids absolutely loved and some fun family tournaments were had! We found that & more here with this property. The pond, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, game room, the big yard, the chickens, and the covered patio gave everyone something to do without feeling crowded. Shawn was an excellent host, stopping by the first night to teach the kids how to take care of the chickens & the catfish. We really enjoyed watching them taking their chores so seriously. We passed the days away watching the cows & the babies up on the hill. Cherokee Lake & Dam has a nice beach and it is about 5 minutes from the home. Panther Creek State Park has some nice hiking trails with great views. On our way back we stopped at Gelato Brothers. It is owned by the same owner and we wanted to try the waffle cones made from the eggs on the property. Some of the group took an evening and went to Knoxville or Gatlinburg, both within easy driving distance for a day trip.
