Lakefront Cottage on Beautiful Stony Lake

Relaxing 3 bedroom cottage located in a prime location on "all sports" Stony Lake with spectacular views. Watch the sunrise from the balcony or the private, sandy beach right in your backyard. Dock your boat at the dock or use the paddle boat, sailboat, or kayaks which are included with the rental to explore Stony Lake. Enjoy swimming, playing in the sand, water sports or fishing off the dock. Create wonderful memories with family and friends while enjoying the cookouts on a new gas grill, campfires, or floating down the river into Lake Michigan. End your day on the 10x30 deck or the beach with your beverage of choice and watch the sunset. Our guests will surely enjoy the newly added, full bathroom as well as the updated family room furniture.

The cottage is located on the south side of Stony Lake which makes access to local attractions such as Lake Michigan, Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan Adventure, golf, horseback riding, bike trails, or a quick trip to the store very convenient. Ludington, Pentwater, Montague, Hart and Whitehall are all within 30 minutes.

We had a great stay at Stony Lake. The cottage was pristine, and well stocked with toys and activities to keep our 2 and 3 year olds busy and very, very happy. The and area was a big hit for the kids, and the adults enjoyed the great sunsets from the deck. Couldn’t imagine a more perfect place to stay in the area.

Beautiful location with all the basics for a weekend stay and close enough to Lewis adventure and farm. Great with quick communication. Clear directions on how to get to the cabin. My kids enjoyed the toys and sand pit. Adults enjoyed the view. Rustic and charming. Recommend air purifier and a bit more cleanliness if there are crawling infants as guests.

Great Spot!

Stony Lake family vacation 2023

We enjoyed an amazing week at this private cottage on Stony Lake. Only about 15 minutes from the sand dunes, and a fun relaxing tube ride from Stony Lake creek to Lake Michigan. Cottage was clean, with all amenities needed for a vacation week with family. We were very pleased with this rental 👍

Lakeside getaway

Stoney Lake is a beautiful destination for a lakeside getaway. This lake house was well stocked and had just about everything we wanted. There are lots of fun games and activities for rainy days. Tom was very responsive to any questions that we had. The only downfall that I could see was that somehow mosquitoes and many many spiders were making their way inside. We did notice some screens had holes and this is possibly the cause. Despite this, we had a blast and I would highly recommend.

Great Family Vacation

Stony lake was the perfect spot for a family vacation. This house was the best stocked rental we have ever been to. The kitchen had all you needed and more and there were plenty of linens and blankets. The weather was chilly while we were there but luckily the home had plenty of games to keep us busy. We were still able to enjoy the fire pit and a few local breweries! We will be back!

The home was well appointed. The weather did not cooperate with us.

Probably the only negative was the small child staying next door literally cried non stop and it got to be pretty annoying. It was difficult to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. We were glad they left after a couple days.

Guys golf trip

Had a tournament over the weekend at a course right around the corner. Nice spot on Stoney Lake. Very quiet area. Saw a bald eagle fly over and hang out in a tree just above us. Home was a nice spot for us to spend the weekend!

Great Getaway

We rented this property for a girls' weekend and it did not disappoint. So cute! The bedrooms were nice and not at all musty. We loved Stony Lake! One highlight was being able to kayak together out to Lake MI. We also enjoyed close-by Ludington amenities and the fantastic Mexican food in neighboring Shelby. We loved our time away at this gorgeous lakeside getaway.

Great for families

This was our second time staying at this property, they recently upgraded the floors and kitchen. It looks great! We had terrific weather and the kids loved being able to walk into the water. Super easy to rent and communicate with the owners. Would definitely stay again

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed our time at the Big Dipper Cottage. The house was beautiful and so close to the lakeshore. I highly recommend this home if you’re looking for a relaxing getaway.

The Perfect Getaway

We loved vacationing at the Big Dipper Cottage! The cottage is super clean and very well equipped. It is family friendly and provided entertainment for my whole family: swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boating, bon-fires, games for all ages, and DVDs. The views of the lake and sunsets were beautiful. The location is close to shopping, Lake Michigan beaches, and lighthouses. It is a quiet area and a good place to unwind and relax. We loved it!

Amazing House

The house itself was fantastic. The inside was lovely, everything was clean and ready for our stay. To make it even better the view of the lake was spectacular.
