The footprint became a duplex in the 1930s and we left it as such. The living room contains a "truth window" - a section where we left the original German fachwerk exposed for those who admire old homes to see some of the original settlers' handiwork. This property is right downtown - restaurants and bars are a block away. Also close to Schlitterbahn, the Comal river, and The Float In. This is one unit of a duplex in downtown New Braunfels. You will share a wall with the other rear unit and guests but you do have your own private porch and entrance. You can often hear live music coming from downtown New Braunfels in the evenings. This house has been completely remodeled and is in wonderful condition, but the history still shows beautifully. Such a lovely time staying here. The location was incredible. We walked everywhere. The slight noise from the great location didn’t bother us at all and we were able to sleep when we wanted to. Everything was well appointed and clean. The functionality of the home was spot on.
