Lovely Laurel Run Cottage, Hocking Hills, Hot Tub

The Laurel Run Cottage is nestled in the rolling hills of Southeast, Ohio while still remaining close to nearby restaurants, shops, and local attractions. The cottage boasts 3 comfortable bedrooms, 1 bathroom, large living spaces, and a spacious kitchen. Traveling is a breeze when you stay with us as the lodge is fully equipped with great amenities. Property offers an outdoor hot tub, fire pit, and great quality time. State Parks, lakes, canoe & kayaking, ziplining and so much more all located within a short distance from the property.
You are centrally located to all Athens, Logan, and Nelsonville have to offer allowing you to explore all of Southeast, Ohio! Our guests are minutes from Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, Ohio University, and countless state lakes. Come explore, experience, and enjoy the great outdoors and the beautiful rolling hills of Hocking Hills and Wayne National Forest.

When you stay at this property, you will find yourself having relaxing days and cozy nights giving you the sense of being at home away from home. This lovely 3-bedroom, 1-bathroom Nelsonville home comfortably accommodates up to 8 guests, making it a great location for a fun Hocking Hills family vacation or an extended weekend with friends. You are welcomed to a charming front porch that has two porch swings.

Upon entering the property, there is a spacious main living room, full equipped kitchen, sitting area, and 3 comfortable bedrooms. You and your guests can get cozy next to the electric fireplace on the large sectional in the main living room. The flat screen TV allows you to watch a suspenseful movie with a buttery bowl of popcorn. After a long day of hiking, head back to the farmhouse to enjoy homemade dishes. The kitchen comes fully equipped with all the amenities and appliances needed for a getaway. Grab fresh ingredients from our local Kroger located in town or drive 15 minutes down the road to enjoy some of our favorite local restaurants!

When you get tired, rest in the comfortable bedrooms. Each bedroom comes with a ceiling fan, flatscreen TV, and extra blankets – keeping you and your guests comfortable and relaxed. If you want to keep your packing to minimum, no need to stress because there is a washer and dryer that can be utilized throughout your entire stay.

This is a beautiful area, and a lovely cottage. We ended up arriving a little late, but the host was very accommodating. Everything we needed was available. Towels, linens, pots & pans.

Loved the fire pit and the hot tub. The hot tub wasn’t very hot though. It was set at 93 or four and we weren’t allowed to turn it up. The place was fairly clean, except the window blinds needed a good cleaning. We had a great time.

ok but not spectacular

The house was clean but overall pretty run down and nothing like the pictures on the website. The beds weren't very comfortable. There wasn't any soap in the shower and the site didn't specify to bring that. Usually places have soap. The internet didn't work for most of our stay and there was a cable missing for the DVD player so we couldn't even watch a movie. I probably wouldn't stay there again unless it was super cheap.

We had a great time in Nelsonville/Hocking Hills. Close to shopping and restaurants. Very cute house and property, loved the 2 living rooms/family rooms and very nice porch! Plenty of space for just the 3 of us.

We had a great time. The house was VERY clean and had more than enough towels/linens and kitchen utensils, pots/pans and dishes. House was quiet and close to everything we wanted to experience! Communication was clear and quick.

Cleaned very well. Closer to road than we had anticipated. Had lots of spiders which our younger daughters had a hard time with. Hot tub had some issues but the guide book helped us through those. Excellent info provided in the book. Kitchen well stocked.

Outdated and forgotten

I fell in love with the photos of this house. But these photos are old. I understand that with this house being in the country there are going to be pests and such but this was a horirble experience. We didnt get to use the hot tub because of the bees. The water also looked green. There were wasps upstairs so my kids couldnt even sleep up there. We all ended up sleeping in the living room.. The front bedroom was creepy to my whole family. I also never got a checkin email from the host. I had to call them for the code for the lock box. They never told me i had to go to the adventure shop. Everything from our trip was great except for anything to do with the house. house.

Felt like home!

Our little home away from home was so cozy! Everything the property owner explained was accurate. We did experience no wifi, but they had just had tornadoes come through. The hottub is VERY hot, so we had to let the top be off for a bit before we could get in. The beds were comfortable & clean. And the onsite laundry was very convenient! We were at every destination within about 30minutes of the house, but for the price we didn't mind at all.

Nice Basic Rental House

House was older and did show its age in a few different ways. But provided us with everything needed for a quick family trip. Pretty quiet in the house and around even with traffic coming by on the road. Perfect house for an inexpensive no frills relaxing trip.

We had a great time. Loved the fire pit area. We spent a lot of time by the fire. There is everything you need to cook if you want. If you want to get food you'll have to pick it up. We had no luck getting delivery.

Fit Our Needs for the Weekend

The house was fine, in a good location, close to parks, fishing, outdoor activities. This house is a little worn, but clean and comfortable. There were a issues with the hot tub not being clean and maintained, and there were wasps and hornets nesting it.

A nice place to stay

It is a lovely house. Plenty of space. It was pretty clean. It was in the center of all of the places we wanted to go. If I had to give one downfall, it would be the hot tub. The lid was in two pieces, the water was filled with what was likely pieces of the lid so it looked pretty dirty, and the lid was filled with a pocket of water making it heavy. Wasps were making their home in the hot tub. Other than that, it was a nice old farmhouse.

Quite Time

It was great to have a respite from city noise; there was more than enough A/C capacity to keep the house chill inside. A great large backyard surrounded by trees. Nice place.

Cleaners did good job with linen but mice were a problem throughout our stay. Mice Running on and in stove the first night even with traps set . One sad mouse caught and hobbling around with trap on his body. Just awful. Slow response from Owners. Unit was said to be 3 bedroom however it is a 2 bedroom with a open area at the top of the stairs where 2 twin beds were placed, not really a bedroom. No privacy. We called because first floor bed room overhead lite and fan would not work, but they did not fix it--also a non working floor fan that was useless. Dehumidifier totally filled with water in living room. Nice hot tub but older lid is ripped up and very heavy to remove. I would never recommend anyone to stay here.

Looks are deceiving

The overall stay was great, the few downfalls to the trip were that the hot tub was dirty and discolored, the house had dust and hair all over the place and had to vacuum before allowing my children to play of the floors,and last but not least on the last day of my family and I being there we saw 5 mice running throughout the house and could hear them in the walls and ceiling

The property looks like someone's personal home and was equipped as such. The inside was kept up well which made our stay feel like we were home away from home.

The only issue we had was the hot tub was not hot the first night and the lights don't work in it so it was pretty dark, which was ok because the stars are amazing.
