(1,000 reviews) Hotel was located right off the coast road about 20 minutes away from Galway. Room was clean and comfortable. Only negative was the 9 steps to navigate with suitcases. The staff were friendly and helpful. Apparently this is a popular hotel weddings. Had a nice dinner at the onsite restaurant/bar and then got to watch a beautiful sunset over the water. Breakfast was included and had the usual fare with something for everyone. (84 reviews) Screebe House is a beautifully peaceful getaway. We had a gorgeous view of the water. At night looking across the water was very little light. It was so peaceful. The food was very good with great portion size. Breakfast was included with a small buffet plus a made to order hot option. Dinner was a 2 or 3 course choice. I did an appetizer and main and walked away full and satisfied. The second evening we let them know that we were exploring and went to Kylemore Abbey and the Clifdon. We did not use the spa or pool but we did check out the pool and it was in a lovely spot (indoor and saltwater) we did go down to the pier and dipped our toes into the cold sea. There is a ladder for those adventurous ones who want to swim. I would definitely recommend the Screebe House to anyone looking to get away from it all. My only complaint is no air conditioning- but that is only because we come from an area that everything is air conditioned. But I would go back in a heartbeat!
