The Kahana Sunset sits on Keonenui Bay and feels as though it has its own private beach. Conveniently located minutes from world-renowned golf courses at Kapalua and Kaanapali, and steps from shops, markets and restaurants in Napili, this property is also just a few miles away from the excitement of Kaanapali Resort. This unit proudly features:

This townhouse has older plantation style décor and is offered at lesser rate per night less than the neighboring condos that are fully remodeled and similarly located. The two full bathrooms upstairs and the half bathroom on the ground floor have been upgraded since the original construction. There are large flat screen TVs in the living room and Master bedroom. The unobstructed ocean views are why you should book this condo!

Your condominium will be supplied with beach towels. It will not however be stocked with beach equipment. Too often items break or go missing and it is not feasible to track and replace the items. Sullivan Properties, Inc firmly believes in recycling & lowering the carbon footprint we leave on this planet! If items are purchased or acquired by guests and are still in good condition, we are happy to leave them in the unit for others to enjoy. If they are extremely dirty or broken, we must toss them out. There are places nearby that rent beach amenities – your property might also have an onsite rental shack. Most of the rental places nearby offer daily or weekly rates. Please note, we are not endorsing these companies simply providing the more popular options in the area : Snorkel Bobs in the Kahana Gateway Center, Boss Frogs in the Napili Plaza and Boss Frogs in Kahana Manor. Maui on the Fly for baby equipment rentals – this includes baby beach toys and other beach necessities for children. For more details and information check them out on the web!

Also located at the Napili Plaza are retail shops and a few eateries including Mama’s Ribs &Rotisserie, A’a Roots, Joey’s, and Maui Tacos. Kitchen 5315 and the Gazebo restaurant are located at the Napili Shores resort. Just on the opposite side of Napili Bay enjoy the Seahouse restaurant which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It also has a great Happy Hour with both food and drink specials!

Great location!

Property is very nice and great location. The unit we stayed in A3 is weathered and dated and no a/c so just be aware of that! Sullivan was very good to work with, There are lots of stairs around resort and no elevators so if you are not very mobile this might not be the right spot for you!

Review of second stay in A3 2023

This is my second stay at Kahana Sunset A3 in two years. The property manager is excellent to work and communicate with. I believe housekeeping does a very good job considering the condition of the unit. Outside grounds are very clean and beautifully maintained. This particular unit is very tired and overall feels dirty. It needs a good refresh starting with the furniture and area rug downstairs. The flooring in this unit is probably original and shows its age. It does not feel clean to walk on with bare feet. Last year, it appeared the carpet had recently been replaced on the stairs and in the bedrooms, but this year, it showed a lot of wear and did not feel clean. The kitchen cabinets and drawers are old and feel dirty. There are very few kitchen utensils and cookware, so cooking can be challenging. During my stay, it rained almost consistently for nine days-sometimes quite heavily. All of the other units have a retractable awning that allowed their guests to still enjoy the outdoors, while A3 doesn't have one. This visit the lack of air conditioning was noted during some very warm afternoons and evenings. The view is wonderful and the location of the condo complex is perfect. I really like this area and Kahana Sunset. I probably will spend more money and stay in an updated unit next time. Wish the owners would sink some money into some basic updates. Some new furniture, shower curtains, and kitchen wares don't cost too much and can make a difference.

The pictures of the beach on the property are a bit deceiving and we we’re getting bit by something at night so the cleanliness wasn’t great. It was definitely stuffy with out ac. That was mentioned in the listing so it wasn’t a surprise we just expected an oran breeze but it wasn’t well ventilated.

Most incredible property and people

We had the best time!! It was beautiful and safe to allow our kids to run around and explore. The facilities were amazing, the location couldn’t have been better with a short walk to the Market. We are coming back!!

The Location is Amazing

Everyday we were able to watch turtles swimming from the balcony. The location itself was great. The actual condo is dated and they do have ants so NOTHING can be left out, not even a semi dirty dish or there will be ants swarming in the sink. The pull out couch was comfortable. We did not have any issues sleeping at night with not having AC in the unit, Running the fans kept everyone comfortable. I would stay here again. For the price and location it was great for us. We just kept all foods put away and washed any dishes used at the time we used them.

Overall great stay. The owner needs a kick up the proverbial and needs to fix a lot of run down things. Property managers were prompt and efficient and helped the best they could, if being a little unprofessional with their communication. But generally speaking would recommend.

Nice property, not pleased with interactions with property manager

The condo was nice and comfortable, but we didn’t have the greatest experience with the property manager. The first evening we arrived I did a load of laundry and the washer was terribly loud and sounded like it was about to go out. The property manager happened to call the next day to inform us that they had ordered a new washer the week prior and would be in today to replace it and said we didn’t have to be there (we were already out and about that day). She had left me a voicemail initially and I didn’t see it so I called before I had listed to it and she seemed annoyed that I called in since she had already left me a voicemail. Shortly after I realized I had left clothes in the dryer and immediately called the property manager back to tell her. Her response was “are you kidding me!” “We probably won’t get the clothes back, I will have to call you back.” She then proceeded to hang up on me. The day went by and when we returned to the condo, no one had come to replace the washer/dryer unit and our clothes were still there (whew!) She never called me back with an update like she said she would. I called her to inform her that the clothes were there as well as the old unit and she said “ok you got your clothes, well they were supposed to replace it today, I’ll have to call them.” She was still very annoyed. She then called two days later to say they would be there to replace it. Meanwhile I didn’t want to do laundry for fear that someone would show up to replace it while I had clothes washing. Needless to say, the unit was never replaced in the 5 days we were there, which wasn’t a big deal to me. It was the unprofessionalism of the property manager and poor customer service that we did not appreciate. The condo was perfect, but I will not be renting with Sullivan properties again due to this experience.

Facility is poorly maintained. Doors paint chipping, Walls with marks & scratches, Floor tiles fixed with black tape & falling apart, new furniture with chipped finish, sliding glass door screen falling off track, curtains for sliders hard to use, kitchen cabinet doors ready to fall off & poorly aligned, toilets running constantly at times. Renter should be advised of long walk from parking lot to property & be advised of stairway which is difficult for handicapped individuals. Weeds growing in planter on deck were higher than the plants, exhaust fan in master bath so noisy didn't want to use it. On positive side property had a beautiful view. The weather was hot & the property was almost unbearable at times to sleep in on the second floor with no air conditioning. Would never stay at property ever again.

Great Resort for Kids

Kahan Sunset was the perfect low-key resort for our young kids. The pool and private beach were very kid friendly and mellow. Unit A3 had a beautiful view and a good layout for our family. It really needs an upgrade though. We stayed during summer and it was uncomfortably hot and difficult to sleep despite using all of the fans. Also, the lack of a sunshade made it difficult to use the outside deck for most of the day. We would definitely return to Kahana Sunset, but I wouldn’t stay in A3 again unless it gets some upgrades.

Amazing view

The view was truly spectacular, the grounds were fantastic. The staff were wonderful. We did feel a little misled as the pictures on vrbo led us to believe we had the corner unit-not so. The unit is very dated and we had little critters to contend with. With a few changes this could be a 5 star rating.

Location, location, location.

If you like being in the water then this your place. There's a lovely strip of golden sand that entices you out to a great snorkeling area around a reef of rock and coral. There's a convenient outdoor shower area to rinse off the sand and salt water. And there's a beautiful pool. For sun worshipers there is a lovely lawn area surrounded by well tended gardens. We even picked some fresh limes off the garden's lime tree. The 2 story suite has two patios areas, one above the other. They face West for a lovely sunset view. We had fun counting the whale leaps as we enjoyed our breakfasts on the patio. The sound of the waves rolling over the reef at night made for a soothing lullaby. The condo is low key. It's kitchen has all the tools you'll need. There's a grocery store that's a pleasant 4 block walk up the quiet road. We enjoyed our stay.

Can’t get any closer to the water. Right off the patio! Condo is some what dated but if you want to be close to the ocean a s Head tvr crashing surf at night, this is your place!!! No a/c, didn’t need it. There are ceiling fans in every room along with pole fans. Never used the pole fans.

Perfect location!

Great condo with lovely oceanfront views. This would not be for someone who cannot go up and down stairs. The unit itself was clean and comfortable but it is not updated - I think it was priced accordingly. You could see whales and sea turtles! We enjoyed our stay😀
