No damage and only lost power for a week. Modern new and private property in a quiet and friendly neighbourhood. Lovely walks around the lake, close to the beach and 3km to the town centre. Over 30 wine cellar doors on your doorstep and micro brewery just around the corner. Golf course and foot golf just down the road. External security cameras cover the garage entrance and the rear gate. Fully fenced property. It was as per the photos and online description. It is well maintained, and has a beautiful outdoor sitting area. The locality was quiet. I texted Greg for some clarification and he responded though he was out of the country. Just a minor things to mention - there were used soaps (with hairs) in the bathrooms. Garage has 2 parked cars and lots of boxes, which reduces mobility in the garage especially for laundry. The owner has his own stuff locked in half wardrobes (bedrooms), and master bedroom's walk-in wardrobe was locked but that does not affect our stay. There was still enough space. Great living space and spacial bedrooms. Great outdoor areas for relaxation. It was a little further from town than I expected about an hours walk to the centre of town. Attended a wedding in the Hawkes Bay, and had families and friends from overseas that came to visit us and was overwhelmed about the place. We even had them stay for dinner with the good bbq and outdoor seating area provided for large numbers. The outdoor space is where we hung out most of the time where you had good shade and a slight breeze which was just right in the middle of summer. Plenty of space for all. A great kitchen and facilities for meals and evenings. The location was central, allowing easy navigation around the venues we needed to be at throughout the Bay. Unfortunately when we arrived the place was pretty dirty, if it had been cleaned in was a very poor job. The floors were dirty with fish scales scattered around. The kitchen draws were grubby with food on many utensils. There were only small bath towels available, no hand towels or face towels. The bathrooms were generally clean but the mirrors were smeared and not cleaned properly. Some of the towels place in the bedrooms along with the tea towels were dirty so we washed and dried them so they could be used. This was particularly disappointing. There is a smart TV but no local contact at all, it couldn't be tuned. Fortunately I did take Google Chrome so we had access, it is pretty dusty back there though so another cleanliness issue. Whilst the house is was adequate for our purposes there is a lot of the owners personal gear around that maybe should have been removed including baby gear in the dining and bedroom. I did contact the owner and sent some photos. There is also an extensive list of what should be done to clean prior to departure which did raise a few eyebrows as a) we were charged a cleaning fee and b) as mentioned the place wasn't particularly clean when we arrived. Without going overboard the house is considerably cleaner than when we arrived. Being charged a cleaning fee isn't appropriate if it isn't being done. If the house was cleaned properly and presented better if would be a great place to stay, hopefully ours was a one off. ##### Clive S. Séjour de 4 nuits en décembre 2022
