« The room was very big with a beautiful view of the forest. There was a nice wooden bath in the room and a very large communal bath. The breakfast and dinner were delicious, but there is only Japanese food and green tea, so if you want something else you should take it with you. All in all it was a wonderful ryokan experience at a very reasonable price. »

« If you’re looking for an authentic tatami mat stay with easy access to great food and local experiences - and don’t mind sharing a bathroom with other guests - we highly recommend this place! Our young kids absolutely loved it and said it was their favorite stay of the trip. As early risers, we enjoyed morning walks to Lawsons for coffee and snacks before heading out for the day. We were able to walk easily to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest multiple times, as well as Adashino Nenbutsuji Temple and...

« We loved the staff and hospitality at Momijiya. My husband said it felt like we were staying at our grandma's house. We loved the ryokan experience as well. We really felt we were getting a more intimate Japanese experience. The food really put us Americans out of our comfort zone, but we wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Our rooms were quaint with nice view, and the comforters on our futons were incredible comfortable. Like sleeping inside a warm cloud. This is a great spot to feel...

"Magnifique endroit traditionnel. 5 Bains privés (taxe 150 yens et par personne par jour ) et publics. Le repas est à faire un moins une fois au Japon, une superbe expérience. Pleins de petites attentions qui vont du katana aux glaces et thé froid offert à la sortie du spa. Très bien placé et le calme d’Arashiyama fait le plus grand bien lorsque vous arrivez de Tokyo"
