A Bad Experience, I strongly advise against
5 days on a business trip. Even though some of the reception team tried to be helpful, Check-in and namely Check-outs are very badly organized. I had to leave without an invoice after waiting half an hour (even though I was the first in line but group operators just passed over) and reminding several times the desk that I had a flight to catch. The rooms are poorly equipped (my kettle cables were damaged and dangerous to use) and have no air-conditioning. The restaurant had a limited continental menu and several courses and desserts were always "unavailable".

Hôtel bien situé, La propreté y est irréprochable. Chambres tout confort avec une jolie vue. Buffet midi et soir pas cher du tout. Petit bémol, 2 coupures de courant à 23h. Les voyageurs qui comme moi atterrissent assez tard à Nairobi risquent de devoir se doucher dans le noir. Mis à part cela, excellent rapport qualité prix.

I liked the exemplary reception I was accorded. It was great. I liked how the first cook showed me around/how to get started with serving breakfast. Other cooks just kept staring. I was stunned in the morning to pay Kshs 2000 for breakfast yet it said it was included. What do these terms mean “breakfast included, breakfast available “? I would give it excellent if not for the breakfast which I felt robbed of.

Vi havde 2 overnatninger. Sengen var så hård, at det var som at ligge på gulvet. Vi manglede håndklæder ved ankomst. På 2 dagen spiste vi på hotellet. Ventede 1,5 time på min mad og så var tilbehøret endda koldt. Det var nok pga den store fest der var på hotellet, som ligeledes holdte os vågen til 01.00 selvom vi boede på 8 sal. Hotellet er ligeledes slidt og på ingen måder et 4 stjernet hotel. Kan ikke anbefale at overnatte her.

The Deluxe Room that I rented had cockroaches and other bugs crawling around the room, I killed 6 and the last bug that I killed was right in front of the Porter who moved me to another room the next morning. To be charged extra money for a room because of the Hotel’s negligence was totally unacceptable. I was refused a credit and charged full price. Never again!!!

Vi var 3 venner på tur fra Norge og for å oppleve tilnærmet Norsk standard på hotellrommet, valgte vi å leie suitene i etasje 9. Rommet var godt utstyrt med badekar og to dusjer og en elektrisk massasjestol, kjøleskap, kaffetrakter, vannflasker, bidè på toalettene. To toaletter på rommet. M.M. Jeg reagerte på at kingsize senga var vel hard å ligge på etterhvert, men det viste seg i ettertid at madrassen var lagt på opp/ned. Servicen var i midlertidig god da vi fikk hjelp med engang og vi fikk i tillegg lagt på en overmadrass. Svømmebasseng på tiende etasje og solsenger. Sikkerheten var svært bra. Vaktene utenfor sjekket alle biler, selv de bilene som daglig var innom hotellet ble grundig sjekket. I tillegg har det kenyanske militæret sin hovedbase i samme nabolag og president boligen er fem minutter unna. Det er 7 minutter med Uber til nærmeste kjøpesenter yaya. Personalet var serviceinnstilt og glade. Vi kjente oss godt ivaretatt. Det eneste vi kunne satt fingeren på var serveringen ved middag. Den tok altfor lang tid. Ca. En time fra bestilling til ferdig på bordet. Men til gjengjeld var det mer rimelige matpriser på hotellet enn det du fant på restauranter like ved. Man kan også veksle tusen skilling til mindre enheter i resepsjonen, som også er et stor pluss. Alt i alt, hadde vi en fin opplevelse og et bra opphold og kommer gjerne tilbake på neste tur. Vi har vært i Kenya mange ganger tidligere, og dette hotellet blir nok en favoritt og gjenganger for oss. Mvh. Norsk

Swiss Lenana has become my favorite property in Nairobi and the only one I’ll book now. The last time I stayed there I booked it even though my meetings were all the way in Bomas, creating at least an hour commute to them but I don’t mind it if it means staying there The staff are so kind and attentive, they ensure I have a soft mattress when I come as it’s my preference and remember that I prefer a fan in my room and have one waiting for me when I check in. The breakfast is nice, the rice porridge is my favorite, and the team greets you with a smile first thing in the morning But what I appreciate the most is the safety for women traveling alone. Security once brought a package up for me and when I moved out of the way for him the gentleman politely said “I cannot enter your room” and sat it at my doorstep. When I went to move it he politely requested that I close and lock the door while he was standing there (to ensure no one could enter as my door was right next to the stairwell). While perhaps the first one is to protect their staff from ever being accused of anything, I also appreciate the personal safety side of it, this is the reason I will continue to book at Swiss Lenana, even if it means I’ll have a 2 hour commute to my meetings The value for the price is above and beyond :) The only thing I would change is that the shower water gets hotter but that might also be intentional to reduce shower time leading to less water consumption ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just a bid old and shabby. Also had a problem when staying as the bar next door held a party until 4.00 so not able to sleep. I was leaving early at 5 so a bad experience. I did complain but nothing was offered to compensate . The roof pool is a joke. Would I stay again NO!
