Séjour très agréable à Ole Sereni. Surprise de constater quelques années après un 1er séjour, qu'une nouvelle route pour camions passait dorénavant entre l'hôtel et le Nairobi National Park. Un personnel très attentionné vient agrémenter le séjour.

Overbooking the hotel
I booked a Club Park view room to get a calm room and enjoy the view on the park. Upon arrival, the reception told me that they were fully booked and did not have any park view rooms anymore. It means that either they gave my room to another customer or just oversell their park view rooms (which is not legal). Furthermore, my city view room has an AC issue (very noisy) and I had to change room in the evening. The park view room was offered to me the next day after pushing the reception. Finally, I still paid 2 nights for the park view room that is more expensive even if i stayed only one night in it. This is the third time this same story is happening to me and this is unacceptable. The hotel is clearly overselling the park view rooms and this is an illegal practice that should be sanctioned by a judge.

Far too expensive for what it is!
The only advantage of this hotel is being 15 away from the Airport (as long as you're moving against the traffic flow). For the rest, it isn't worth the price : it's luxurious, but not that luxurious. Compared to other hotel, you shouldn't pay 220€ for it. The room are small, noisy if you're on the road side and the service so-so. Attention : even if you're told at check-in that the breakfast is included, it is not when you reserve with Hotels.com. You'll need to add 15$ for continental (hugely expensive for 3 slides of fruits, a croissant and a tea and a nest of dead flies falling from the ceiling onto my table, thing nobody seems to care about) and even more for the full breakfast. Not a very good surprise.

Nice for short stay ... acceptable for longer
The major advantage of this hotel is the terrasse with a view on the national park. The two restaurants are good but not better than other similar hotels in Nairobi. The service is quite impersonal, it's not an hotel were you really feel at home. For business travelers, internet is pretty bad and there is no area to work. Many clumsiness like: cleaning the rooms at 10PM, cutting the grass under your windows at 7AM, 30min for a check-out... Rooms are rather small for this standard. The one on the city side are noisy due to current construction work for the future highway (that will be 30m away from your window). Also for this price, the breakfast should be included.

Stop d'une nuit a Nairobi avant transfert vers les seychelles avec enfant de 18 mois. Hôtel choisi pour sa proximité de l'aéroport (environ 20 min). Hôtel haut de gamme, personnel acceuillant et aux petits soins. Quelques petites faiblesses sur le temps d'attente au restaurant ou sur l'organisation du personnel du même restaurant. Également concernant l'état de la salle de bain, ou les tâches noires autour de la baignoire sont toujours pénibles pour des hôtels de ce standing et de ce prix (environ 300€ la nuit). Mais globalement cela ne gâche pas l'impression haut de gamme de l'etablissement, dans lequel nous pourrions revenir sans hésiter si besoin.

Really rude staff and poor service. Our room was on the 4th floor near the entrance to the bedrooms. You could hear the doors opening and closing as people were entering the area and talking! The night before we were due to fly, there was a party in the restaurant which went till nearly 1am! There was no notification of the party and the music could be heard clearly in our room. Despite calling reception twice nothing was done about it. There was no apology from the staff and we had little sleep before. Catching an early flight. Absolutely shocking customer service!!!!

OK for dinner not overnight (the Hilton is nice)
Well, it’s difficult to know where to start. Giving the positives first, the food is not half bad. I don’t mean to say it’s good, it’s just okay. The rest of the experience not so much. My biggest complaint is the lack of attention to detail (I.e., taking towels out of the room but not replacing them or waiting over an hour to receive a check for dinner). The AC did not function in one of our two rooms. They did not provide an itemized bill at checkout so it feels the bill was ‘ball parked’. The rooms are dated and could be updated, but that’s the least of the worries. Also the ‘park view’ is of a sound wall - lovely stuff in what is (everywhere else) a beautiful county. If you like staying at a Motel 6 this is the place for you, otherwise stay anywhere else. Also their airport transfer is extortion (~$80 for a ~$9 ride) and they will charge as much as they can get away with.

Just finishing up a 6-night stay here. Pros: Very safe with visible security presence and required key card access to hallway to rooms. Staff are very friendly and helpful especially Johnson and Faith in Big 5 restaurant where I had excellent meals. Breakfast is the best with a lot of options on the buffet for a reasonable price (Ksh 3500). Had a nice room facing the park but much fewer animals compared to my last visit since there is a big highway now behind the hotel. Better views from the rooftop restaurant at Emara across the street. Cons: AC did not work in the first room I was given. Switched after 2 nights to a much better one where it was at least functional. Can only cool to 18C, wished it could go lower by a few more degrees. My check-in was also a bit involved as Expedia confirmation did not show up on hotel side. I resolved by calling Expedia customer service. Last tip for improvement is quicker service in the restaurants once a guest is seated. The service IS good, in terms of friendliness, correct orders etc, just engage the customer as soon as they are seated.
