Smooth Sailing is an elegant oceanfront vacation home with a spacious layout. There are five master suites with private bathrooms plus two bedrooms with two queens in each. The upper level is bright and open with a large kitchen with seating for five, a great room with TV, dining area seats ten, a sun room with a table with seating for four and access to the deck overlooking the ocean. The middle level features a sun room and a den. The lower level has a game room with pool table plus an extra full size fridge. Outside is a private pool and hot tub and large furnished decks. There is something for the entire family at Smooth Sailing, including your four legged family members!

The perfect location in the heart of Nags Head means less driving and more relaxing. Close to fine dining, shopping and attractions. Close to Roanoke Island, home to The Lost Colony Outdoor Drama, NC Aquarium and Kill Devil Hills, sight of the First Flight and the Wright Brothers Memorial to teach everyone about the life altering event in US History. Also just minutes from a well known landmark that supposedly got its name since it was a well known horse racing spot. Spectators would climb to the highest dunes to view the races below, we now call - Jockey's Ridge. Visitors climb to the top, fly kites and even hang glide from this unbelievable sand dune formed by Mother Nature.

Good pick

This is a good place to stay, right in the center of town of nags head with a lot of good resteraunts and activities for the children to do. The only down side to the property it is a little outdated. That being said it was still a clean property to stay in.

Wonderful vacation home

Our group of 14 -- grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins -- had a wonderful week at Smooth Sailing. The kitchen is extremely well-equipped, the beach views and proximity are fantastic, there is lots of room for everyone and the management company was very responsive to all our questions. Highly recommend.

Great Place

We had a great time at the place. We had always stayed in Duck, but this year we went to Nags Head. There is much, much more to do along with grocery shopping less than a mile away. The pool was fine and the 2nd floor access to the beach was easy to handle. We loved the high chairs on the top floor porch. The place was well stocked with plates silverware and glasses. The only problem we had was that the week we were there, the temperatures were well into the 90’s and the air conditioner on the 3rd floor would not hold the set temperature. In the morning it would be back to the set temperature. We called and they were responsive and somebody did come out. Also the pool light in the pool was out and they sent somebody out to look at it. We hadn’t noticed it until the end of the stay. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall good

Great location. Very spacious house. Somewhat strange layout, but accommodating. The check-in process was terrible. We were told we would be contacted to check-in and never received communication. We finally just showed up and the house was ready. It would have been nice to know further in advance given we were traveling with small children.
