Staff of the hotel are friendly and helpful and can anticipate your needs including a preference for a shower cubicle instead of a bathtub. The breakfast buffet is sumptuous with western and Vietnamese dishes served at level 9 where you can get a good view of Saint Joseph’s Cathedral. The rooftop bar and swimming pool is a good place to relax at night. "

"We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff is just amazing and so personable. The rooms are generous in size with a very comfortable bed. We stayed one night at this hotel while touring Hanoi and then used this hotel as our base as we traveled to back and forth to Sapa and Halong Bay. Because would miss breakfast since took a night train, the hotel staff provided us with boxed meal for the train. Such a nice welcome back both times and rooms were ready with our stored luggage already in room. The manager and other staff greeted us by name the entire time which is quite impressive. Breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of offerings and additionally could special order from menu. Everything was delicious. Personal service with coffee as well was a very nice touch as used to self serve. Highly recommend the Royal Palace Hotel. Conveniently located in old quarter for walking to shopping and dining. "
