The building was very clean and was nicely decorated/furnished. Staff were friendly. I don't wish to add a negative, but the advertised "heated pool" was actually "cold." It was a bummer, as my husband and I were celebrating our 23rd anniv. and haven't been swimming in ages. I mentioned it to the desk host; she said it's kept at a steady 85 degrees but that she would mention it to the maintenance department. The hotel is lovely overall. (Except the pool - well it's actually an inviting, clean pool -- just way too cold.)

We stayed in room 205 was right over the Merrill sign and view of the river wasn't great. Not the greatest room. I would ask for a room on 3rd floor or higher. Otherwise the room and hotel is great and the staff was amazing. The food was wonderful. The pool and workout area was fantastic.

We’ve stayed here twice now and it’s been a great experience both times. The rooms are clean, as is the rest of the hotel, and the staff is friendly and professional too. I recommend getting a room with the river view!

This is a charming hotel right on the Mississippi River. This beautifully decorated, clean, bright hotel is staffed by pleasant and helpful staff. We loved walking around the area seeing fun bars and restaurants, cute shops, and the largest watermelon. The food at their restaurant was priced well and delicious. We highly recommend!!

The room was clean, the property is very modern and elegant. However we had requested a river view, and we got an alley view with notification. The windows of the building across the alley were so close that we kept our windows closed the whole time. We didn’t feel comfortable with having strangers look into our window. Plus, the view was very unpleasant. I really was looking forward to the river view, and just wish we would have been informed. I would stay here again but ai would not pay extra for the river view
