This historic 1903 brick home sits 1 block from the waters of Lake Superior, Munising harbor & marina and 1 block from downtown shops, restaurants, galleries and more. Munising is famous for its pictured rocks and pictured rocks boat cruises, waterfalls and countless other outdoor activities. This lovely home greets you with a large covered front porch where no doubt you'll want to relax any time of day, from morning coffee to evening refreshments. Open the large oak front door and step into a one-of-a-kind home with spacious living and dining rooms which capture your attention immediately with their high ceilings and original hemlock trim and doors. A quirky kitchen includes a bar section from The Log Jam, a Munising tavern from years gone by. Adjacent to the Kitchen is a ¾ bath with curved door shower. Be sure to notice the original 2 door ice chest in this former pantry turned bathroom. The home features a total of 3 bedrooms. The front 2 bedrooms, each with a full-size bed, are conveniently located off the living room and kitchen. These 2 bedrooms share a Jack and Jill style layout with a bathroom featuring a soaker tub and stand-up sprayer wand. The entire back of the home is a large bedroom. A queen size bed and seating area makes this a perfect space for grownups to enjoy a quiet morning coffee. This bedroom also has its own private outdoor entrance. A mini-split unit provides this room with both Air Conditioning and heat. Whether you are looking for hiking, swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing or just relaxing, you can't beat Munising and this home! A GREAT vacation is just a phone call away. Fire-pit: Because of the proximity of neighbors there is not a firepit Fishing: Pier fishing a block away! Smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, and bluegill are common in the area. Fishing License: A license is required in order to fish in Michigan. Fishing Poles: Please bring your poles! Parking: Parking in back will accommodate 1 truck and trailer, there is a shared driveway but the best place to park is parallel parking on East side of house Pets: Pets not allowed(owner has severe allergies) Privacy: There are neighbors Snowmobiles: a person (resident and nonresident) that operates a snowmobile in Michigan is required to purchase a snowmobile trail permit. The trail permit enables snowmobilers to ride state-designated trails and thousands more miles of public roads and on public lands (where authorized). It is valid for one year, which begins Oct. 1 and ends Sept. 30 of the following year. State-designated trails are open Dec. 1-March 31 and grooming occurs when there is enough snow on the ground. Very short walk into town which is welcome after a long day of hiking at pictured rocks. Home is on a main road, but it wasn’t a problem.. we enjoyed sitting on the front porch. We were 3 couples hiking Pictured Rock National Lakeshore and found the location to be ideal. You can walk to town, walk to the beach behind the house, sit on the porch and enjoy people watching and the highlight is the DQ across the street. It was a happening place. The place was clean, lots of kitchen utensils to prepare meals and plenty of space. Probably would need an upgrade to the mattresses (too soft for me) but others may find it perfect. ##### Liz C. We found the location of the house to be perfect to site see and for the wedding venue. We could easily walk to get a bite to eat or coffee. Even though, the home was on the main street the home was well insulated therfor quiet at night. We were surprised to find the tub did not have a stationary shower head. The location is very convenient and the check in process was easy. Perhaps this was a unique experience to us, on arrival we found that many dishes, utensils and cups had food or grease residue and in one of the smaller rooms the bed cover was visibly dirty. The house has no laundry or a dishwasher to easily rectify these findings ourselves. There is AC in the master bedroom only but there are many fans. With no central air, a large portable air filter would be helpful given the frequent air quality issues this summer from wildefires.
