Brookside cottage was the perfect escape from the city for myself and my family. We were looking for somewhere comfortable and peaceful, to relax for a few days, without too many distractions. Taria and her friendly dogs met us on arrival and from there we were pretty much left to it. The cottage is very well equipped and had all we needed - Taria seems to have thought of everything; linens, towels, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery, coffee maker, kettle, fans, a fire, an aircon unit (upstairs), books, games, satellite TV and wifi. (There was even coffee , olive oil and balsamic and other basics - some of which we'd forgotten; Thanks Taria!) Taria suggested we try a few local hikes and also walk the farm, both of which we did and enjoyed. Part of the Bruce Trail is close by, and well worth visiting, plus the walk through the woods on the farm was very pleasant in the evening. There are lots of local places to visit, if you choose - we went to Creemore and stopped at a farm shop on the way back. If cycling is your thing, the gravel riding is fantastic; Brookside Cottage is located in the Mulmur Hills and there are lots of them, steep and well worth the effort. In short we had a really lovely few days, Brookside Cottage is a beautiful place and Taria and Dietrich are great hosts.
