We do not employ a property manager so you met the proud owners and hosts of Brookside Cottage. 😊 Thank you for your kind words though; we do like to greet our guests, wave a hello and ensure they have everything they need to be comfortable. Brookside Cottage is situated on our private grounds (32 acres of fields, forest and trails) near but very separate from the main home. This is not a "farm" in the traditional sense but we do have 3 horses on property who can be found grazing in their fenced in paddocks or in the barn. Brookside Cottage offers exquisite views of the Mulmur Hills, privacy, and access to the many local amenities that our guests enjoy exploring. As the description notes, the cottage is a "cozy, open concept guest house". It clearly states that there is no WiFi, that it has one bedroom and that there is a shower, with heated slate and river rock flooring (not a bathtub). We chose specifically not to offer WiFi at this time as the vast majority of our guests are here to unplug and decompress from their busy lives and enjoy the abundance of nature to be found in the area. In the cottage there is a smart TV with Chromecast, Xbox, Satellite TV, DVDs and good cell reception for those who do not want to disconnect completely. The cottage is fully stocked and prepped with basic kitchen goods, linens, towels and toiletries, so guests can arrive and relax. If arriving at night, guests are welcomed to a toasty fireplace during cold weather and lights on. After reading the description of the cottage, perusing past reviews and then experiencing the cottage itself, all of our guests thus far have agreed that the price is well within an appropriate range. We believe our dedication to customer excellence, attention to detail and our location are what bring our guests back again and again.
