Classe et nature
Après Pilanesberg ce fut une expérience inoubliable car avec le safari de 16h à Sabi Sand nous avons vu à moins de 5 m une famille de lions, un buffle au soleil couchant et un léopard. Depuis la terrasse du Protea on peut voir les animaux s'abreuver à la Sabi River : 15 éléphants en famille s'y sont désaltérés sous nos yeux, les mères apprenant aux plus jeunes à boire, traverser la rivière puis se sécher en balançant la terre sur leur dos avec leur trompe. Le boma fut excellent et le personnel très aimable. Un "must" inoubliable dans cette région, un moment de délassement très paisible.

Cet hôtel est idéalement placé à quelques centaines de mètres de l'entrée du parc Kruger. Avis contrasté sur ses prestations. Les chambres sont très bien, spacieuses et propres. Les repas sont bons même si des détails (qui n'en sont pas vraiment) laissent à désirer. Par exemple, des boules de glace sont en libre service dans un présentoir sans capot. Autant vous dire qu'elles fondent vite et qu'on pourrait faire mieux en matière d'hygiène. L'hôtel est globalement très propre mais des insectes nagent dans la piscine. Pas très engageant. Nous y avons renoncé. Le personnel à l'accueil est bien mais les personnes chargées de vous renseigner sur les safaris ne connaissent pas grand chose à leur sujet. A table, le personnel est très souriant mais c'est très long de se faire servir une bouteille d'eau ou toute autre boisson. Voilà, dans un lieu aussi exotique qu'au Parc Kruger, c'est déjà très bien d'avoir ce confort, mais on peut être un peu déçu au regard de du nom de la chaîne d'hôtel auquel il appartient (Marriott).

Tres bien bon, rapport qualité prix
hôtel très bien situe a l’entrée du parc Kruger.Belle chambre,Bon accueil,beau complexe avec une belle vue sur la rivière et des animaux, plein de petit endroits surélevés avec fauteuils et sièges, le spa très tranquille sur une terrasse.Parking pratique. Excellent petit déjeuner Petit bémol le soir repas un peu type grande collectivité...et propreté de la piscine.

Comfortable, 200m from the Kruger Gate.
Although the hotel has several program for game watch, the hotel is Ideally located to visit Kruger park by your self - it is literally 200m from Paul Kruger Gate. The personal and service was excellent, always ready to help. The buffet was always fresh and offered a vaste choice. We deffinitively enjoyed our stay.

Très bel établissement à proximité du parc avec une belle piscine, de beaux jardins et un système de pontons en bois donnant sur le Kruger. L' hôtel est en cours de rénovation. Notre chambre était entièrement rénovée, confortable et contemporaine avec une douche à l'italienne et un écran plat. Seul bémol pour un 4 étoiles, notamment dans un pays chaud, il n'est pas prévu de frigidaire dans les chambres, seulement sur demande !! nourriture bonne et variée. Personnel aimable et attentif.

belle structure mais un peu trop grande
Très belle structure, bien située, avec des aménagements très plaisants. En revanche, le dîner en plein air sous forme de buffet n'est pas très agréable : trop de monde, cuisine préparée trop longtemps à l'avance. De plus c'est catastrophique s'il pleut car pas de solution de repli. Il manque un restaurant où manger tranquillement une cuisine plus raffinée.

Above expectations
Amazing experience staying at Kruger Gate Hotel for 5 nights with my girlfriend. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, especially Sarah from guest relation - she was so helpful organising and changing our safari trips to suit our needs. Over all the experience was above expected. The photos on the website represents reality well. From the infinity pool we observed loads of elephants, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes and much more passing right by for amazing photos and unforgettable memories. I highly recommend this hotel, and hopefully I’ll be back soon.

Mooie locatie met een geweldig spot op de rivier
Hebben het heerlijk gehad. Vanaf de pool bar zie je olifanten de rivier oversteken en zijn nijlpaarden die je ziet, bijzondere ervaring aan het krugerpark. Eten was ook goed kamer oké badkamer zou wel een ubgrade kunnen hebben.

It was a nice hotel, not too big, close to one entrance to the park. The food was good. Trees were beautiful. One can see elephants and other animals from the pool bar. The main problem is that their safaris, or park tours, are too expensive, much more expensive than those organized by the park. But the vehicles are confortable, and drivers nice and helpful.

Great family-/child-friendly hotel adjacent to Kruger Gate, making it super convenient for safaris (5am departure = 530am wildlife sightings!). Pool view is stunning, and a further kids pool make it pleasant and entertaining for kids. Staff were super attentive to ensure our stay was pleasant! The dinner buffet was incredible!

Séjour absolument parfait!! Nous y aurions séjourner beaucoup plus longtemps si l'itinéraire nous l'avais permis! The service was good. The buffet meals went from amazing the first night to just okay by the third night. Room was very old and felt damp. New section is much nicer.

We stopped at this hotel as part of our honeymoon. Amazing hotel. Straight away you feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff are very helpful. The room was lovely and it was decorated for our honeymoon with a bottle of bubbly and petals. The facilities were great with two pools and loads of other activities on site. The food was a buffet style but with so much choice and delicious fresh food. It was a great experience eating outside. We booked a morning safari tour which was incredible. We saw so much wildlife and the guide was so helpful and informative (went in August). We would definitely come back again it was an amazing first safari experience.

Hidden Gem
The property is a hidden gem with tree house lounges, large open deck for animal viewing, outstanding meals for every palate and diet, aged towering trees interspersed throughout, spacious rooms and amenities such as spa, game rooms and gym. The staff are very friendly, helpful, authentic and genuine. I have stayed in property several times and highly recommend it.

What an amazing vacation! You literally cannot beat the location and wow, the hotel was stunning. Good food to order, lovely staff, and even a little shop for souvenirs! Cannot recommend this hotel enough. Also, highly recommend booking “Amos” as your game driver with Kurt Safari Co (who the hotel uses for safaris) he was amazing! One of the managers of the hotel, Sarah, was so sweet and accommodating. Also had a lovely spa experience!

Nice hotel for safari
We very much enjoyed the stay. Well located next to Kruger Park. Only kind of negative thing was that in the winter climate (as Swede it feels weird to call it winter when it is 15 degrees outside though) it became a bit too cold to sit outside during the dinner, maybe it was a temporar solution. The hotel can be recommended if you are aiming for a safari stay in Kruger Park.

Nice Enough Stay
Location is right at the gate so you’re on safari in minutes. The pool overlooks a river and day one we enjoyed a herd of elephants right out front. The following days we enjoyed hippos in the morning. All of this best enjoyed through binoculars. The rooms had ceiling fans (as well as ac) and the cleaning staff mostly kept doors closed when cleaning so we were delighted to have little to no mossies in our room. There are several bars on property with amiable staff and the grounds are generally beautiful. The drawbacks we found were the following: the food was ok. I wish they had hand sanitizer somewhere at the restaurant when hundreds of people are serving themselves with the same serving spoons. My husband watched a man drop the serving spoon on the ground 3 times (!!!!) and then try to walk away leaving it for someone else to serve themself with. Gross. He alerted the kitchen staff and they replaced it immediately. Dinner staff is overwhelmed, they need more people. Out of 3 nights we were only helped with drinks once and never again did we receive anyone checking in on us; even that evening the man was scurrying and often hard to find. Overall, Kruger is a tourist trap (the park not the hotel) so we spent more time at the hotel. We wished the pools were heated so we could actually enjoy the pool deck. Or that they had a hot tub/sauna to enjoy during winter. At nearly $300/night we felt they fell short in places that seemed obvious to curate a good stay for this rate.
