Welcome to The Red Star Cabin! This charming and cozy cabin is nested on the side of Cartwright Mountain just above Lake Fort Smith. This area of the Ozark Mountains offers plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy, such as hiking, fishing, swimming, boating and kayaking. The cabin is centrally located to many amazing State parks such as Lake Fort Smith, Devils Den & White Rock. This is an ideal place not only to enjoy the abundance of outdoor activities but also close enough to enjoy all that Fayetteville or Fort Smith has to offer Historic Garrison Avenue, Judge Parker's Museum, The Marshals Museum, Razorback games, Dickson Street, wonderful restaurants and festivals. The cabin has a rustic charm with modern amenities making it the perfect blend of comfort and nature. \*\*\*The property is located on a dirt road that is steep. In the winter months when it is snowy or icy a 4 wheel drive vehicle may be necessary. The kitchen was adequate, and the outdoor deck was very spacious with a hot tub. Lovely views. Short distance to State Parks for hikers. The rear deck (with hot tub, grill and hammock) was a nice plus after long hikes. Our soar muscles and big appetites approved. There was a sufficient selection of cookware in the kitchen, a great table/island and good counter space, a leather couch and TV, a comfy king sized bed, and a good sized bathroom with stackable laundry machines and plenty of towels. We were very impressed by how efficiently everything was laid out, for maximum function and comfort. The directions for check in and checkout were easy to follow, and the owner left a nice assortment of grab and go snacks in a basket on the kitchen table.
