![AKA The Donnelly House

John P. Donnelly came to Mount Dora in 1879 from Pittsburgh, PA. He married Annie McDonald Stone in 1881 and built this Queen Anne style house in 1893 as a gift to her. He was among the founders of the local yacht club, and served as the city´s first mayor in 1910. The Donnelly House, now owned by Mount Dora Lodge #238, F&AM, was listed in the National Register of Historic Places on April 4, 1975.

« We really enjoyed spending the weekend here for a wedding in town. We managed to catch the Christmas parade in downtown Mt.Dora, which was a lovely town.The place was easy to find and the price was reasonable. My only note, I wished the floors were cleaner, lots of dirt left behind which really made my partner uncomfortable. The shower was very nice and the bed was comfortable. AC worked very well and generally the place had a LOT of charm. »

The pool was down(only reason we booked a hotel), the gym consisted of a closet sized room with a treadmill, 5 sets of weights and a few exercise balls, the hallways were hot and had a dog smell to them. « Donna was awesome with communicating in a prompt manner, especially when we were trying to find a place that would allow our two dogs. We were thoroughly surprised by the Mr. Dora area! The downtown area had pickleball courts, boutiques, small business restaurants, and a nice view of the water if you are looking for a waterfront run or view of the sunrise/sunset.
