We loved being greeted (in the dark) but a family of deer.We are two couples in our late 60's on our first trip to Mount Desert Island/Bar Harbor. We had an amazing time.The home itself is spacious and bright and sunny. It's clear is has been a treasured family home for generations.However, the cleanliness was less than acceptable. We notified management of the condition and submitted photos. Management was very friendly and courteous and offered to send a housekeeper over to clean but that would have been an all day job. Additional information for future guests is that the final drive to the home is an uneven dirt road that is not lit. Arriving in daylight is recommended. It's worth the stay for the peace, tranquility and beauty. ##### Bunny D. The house and layout are as described and more than accommodating enough for a family of 6\. The floating dock was a huge hit for all. Upgrades that the owner may want to consider are upgrading the lighting in all rooms (the living and dining areas were especially lacking), adding ceiling fans to bedrooms (room fans were provided and very helpful), and adding more outdoor furniture to take advantage of the beautiful summer and fall weather.
