This charming cottage offers a floor plan that will fit any vacationer's needs. Third floor has an open living area, principal bedroom with private bath & a half bath. Second floor has 3 bedrooms with 1 bath. Private walkway to the beach.

Nice house

So overall, we enjoyed this property. Even though it was oceanfront, it was quite a walk to get to the beach. Timed myself and it took nine minutes from the back porch till I actually reached the ocean. Considering it was oceanfront it was quite a walk. It is actually an easier walk to take the public access. I should’ve read the reviews about that earlier. The kitchen is a bit small and needs updated pots and pans. The washing machine is possessed and definitely needs to have a new one installed. I had to wash and then do an extra rinse and spin just to have the water drained from the clothes. The house had lots of room and we enjoyed that. It was a bit cluttered with decor, especially in the kitchen. But we had a nice time and enjoyed our vacation.

Nice Place, Convenient

My wife's parents came to NC from Wisconsin, and we wanted a place that was close to Cape Lookout. This place was perfect. Great views. Clean. Close to the restaurants and really close to Fort Macon. We have a fantastic time!

Great beach escape

We had a great time as a family staying here for a long weekend. The property was very clean and the property manager was extremely helpful and easy to get in touch with. You can’t beat the proximity to the beach. Would definitely recommend this house to friends!

Sand Castle was a good choice!

Sand Castle is a great house in a great location. This is a spacious 3-story house with large rooms and a great floor plan for families or groups. There is an owner-suite on the third floor w/ a double vanity, large closet, etc. On the 2nd floor there are actually three bedrooms that share a spacious buddy-bath. (There’s a half-bath on the 3rd floor that adds some flex.) The rear bdrm on this floor is huge with two beds, a sofa and TV, plus a nice covered patio outside with a dune view. We appreciated the larger living room upstairs, although as some others have mentioned, one sofa is torn. Wish there were more chairs for the dining table because it only seats four. The rear deck is large with a great ocean view, although there is no sun protecting other than the umbrella at the table. We were lucky to have temps in the 80’s while we were there, but I imagine it would be too hot to use sometimes. The kitchen has plenty of silverware, dishes, pots etc. but was missing plastic pitchers and storage containers. We appreciated that there were chairs and some beach toys available to use, and I loved the private outdoor shower after the beach! The ocean front location is great! There is a long private boardwalk. The beach is really deep and uncrowded. The house was clean and the beds were comfortable; there are extra pillows & blankets. The décor was super-cluttered with shells, glass and breakable stuff everywhere which was really a headache with our small children (we moved a lot of it to the closets). I think the owners should have a locked closet and put lots of that stuff away when they rent! But the location is hard to beat! You can walk to Ft Macon and Amos Mosquitoes (the take-out there was fast and very good). We were thrilled to find this place for just 3-nights in mid-Sept....provided lots more space than a condo for just a little more money. Thanks!

Great beach access

My husband and I traveled to Atlantic Beach with 2 other couples. We found the SandCastle to be situated in a peaceful area and loved that it was right on the beach. It had plenty of room for the six of us. The inside was a bit worn and it would benefit from a little de- cluttering; less decorations and more clear surfaces instead. But while I would have preferred it to be a little nicer on the inside, it still provided us with a great place to stay while we enjoyed the beautiful beach for the week.

runaround from property management

It seems as though we were the first occupants of the season and the rental was not prepared. We did not have any towels or linens the first night so we couldn't shower to go out to dinner and we had to sleep on top of the comforters. The internet was out the ENTIRE time we were at the house and we had to deal with the cable/internet company for several hours on several different occasions, rather than the property management company taking care of it for us. They told us repeatedly that someone was going to talk to the owner about getting us a partial refund, but it just felt like they were putting us off. Ultimately they never got back to us about the partial refund. They did repair several broken cabinets and slow draining drains during out stay.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had a great time with family. Despite bad weather. Walk to beach was a little long and at spots obstructed but beach was great. Only issue with the amenities is the dishwasher needs repairs. Rest of family also enjoyed it and we all may return next year
