Come enjoy this beautiful 8 acre property right on Nomini creek, adjacent to the Potomac River. This home is located in Montross Va, which has a rich history in oyster harvesting, as the home was once used as an oyster wharf. Once you get closer to the home, traffic will lessen, and life will get a little bit slower. When arriving to the property, it will feel very private, almost secluded. Even so, great restaurants, and grocery stores are only a short drive away. The property has its own private gated entry, and is fenced in. Before you enter the home you will see some of the outdoor opportunities. There are several flat areas in the yard for recreation, including areas by the water for corn hole. There is a large outdoor cauldron for fires with seating around. A very large dock that is lit at night from dusk till dawn. Boat, and jetskis are not available to use or rent, but you are welcome to bring your boat or jetskis and tie off at the dock. The screened in wharf is another special outdoor area with over 500sqft of space. There are several couches, and chairs to relax in. Have lunch or dinner outdoors with the help of the outdoor kitchen. The outdoor kitchen includes a full sized refrigerator with an ice maker, a propane grill, and a prep-table with a cold water sink. The area has beautiful bronze marine lighting, string lighting, and fans for those hot summer days. Once inside the house, the floor plan is an open concept with the main kitchen, living room, and dining room as one, so everyone can be together. The house has a bonus living room on the lower level, as well as a bonus kitchen on the lower level. There are 4 bedrooms, and a loft, which can sleep up to 12 people. The top lighthouse area is not accessible for the safety of our guests. Three bathrooms which two have showers, and one is a shower/tub combo. Both living rooms, and 2 of the bedrooms have large 55 plus inch smart TVs. Central air conditioning for year around comfort, and WiFi. Along with the wharf there are 2 other porches. The first faces the entrance of the home. The other being on the second floor off of the kitchen and living room. This one has amazing views of the water and land around. There are lots of birds to watch including a nearby bald eagles nest. It’s a good chance you will see one of the prettiest sun sets you’ve ever seen from this place! We spent a week at the River House in August of 2024\. Me my husband, two teens and my elderly dad. The house had everything we could possibly need and then some! It's perfectly located on Nomini Creek directly facing the sunset, which we enjoyed every evening. The dock has a nice swimming area with small beach entry right next to the huge screened-in porch and fire pit. The interior has comfortable beds, plenty of towels and a well appointed kitchen for cooking and baking. There is a Food Lion close by and we discovered a wonderful farmer's market called Garner's about 3.5 miles south on Rt. 3\. So many birds and wildlife to watch just sitting on the deck. The gated entry gave us an extra sense of privacy & security too. We loved how quiet and tucked away it was - ideal for a great time just chilling out.
