What a wonderful gem! The hotel is beautifully restored historic building with many original features preserved together with addition stunning additions in furnishings & lighting & plants. Each room is named for an important historical person, we stayed on top floor 5th with a terrace overlooking the street & diagonally the park in one direction & waterfront in the other. Each & every staff member attentive, helpful & friendly. Beds comfy everything neat & clean. There’s even a library room on 1st floor we had tea brought to us there & read some of the books there as well. Breakfast was included and a real treat! All served in lovely original china plates, bowls and small cups but plenty of refills. It has the feel of Old Uruguay. The building has been nicely renovated. Each room has a theme and is well appointed. Everything was clean and well maintained. Beautiful library for relaxing and dining room for breakfast. The included breakfast was great and very ample. Close walking to major sites in historic center and close the port for ferry and restaurant options. Each room is themed and unique. There are restaurants and shopping within walking distance, and there is limited parking on the street. The staff are wonderful and super helpful, and I can’t say enough about them.
