The Chalet is inserted in the chestnut wood of Cher located above Gera Lario and has an unforgettable view of Lake Como. To the owner It took three years to complete, with the advice of a Milanese architect, the careful renovation of the Chalet di Cher following the regulation of the area step by step. Eco building Chalet di Cher was built with great attention to environmental sustainability and has been certified by Cestec as buildings in energy consumption class B (between 31-50 Kwh/m2 per year). The house has very insulating walls, a solar panel system for hot water, gas central heating with flue gas condensing boiler and independent with wood-burning stoves and fireplaces with forced ventilation. Interior of houses The result of the renovation is surprising, the apartments are real gems full of charm. They are bright and with a fantastic view over the valley. The Chalet has been furnished to be practical and comfortable. There is a lot of wood and stonework and the ceilings are beamed. The design and the colors will make you feel at home. This small private paradise is not only for hikers or mountain bikers, but also for those who want a peaceful escape and for those who love to discover the culture of the Alto Lario and its well-known gastronomic attractions. It is also particularly suitable for families with children. The owner lives in Monza, but regularly uses the house for his holidays and consequently the Chalet has been equipped with particular care and is carefully maintained. House exteriors The lawns under the house allow children to play safely. The beautiful view of the lake and the mountains can be enjoyed from all three apartments of the Chalet: le Papere, le Tartarughe and le Campanelle. All terraces and porches are well equipped with wooden tables and chairs and lounging chairs inviting you to spend the whole day gazing at the view. The house has a stone barbecue area for guests to experience their culinary art. In the forest of Cher, just 300 meters from the house, there is the Sorico stream, an uncontaminated stream with natural pools where you can relax and cool off. Parking reserved for customers. The Montemezzo area is very safe and you can park in the garden behind the house (1 car per apartment) or park your car in the parking lot on the provincial road at the beginning of via Cher. Via Cher is the path of about 130 meters that leads to the Chalet and has recently been arranged to allow the transit of cars at a walking pace. There is also a larger car park near the church of San Martino (about 200 meters from the start of via Cher). Via Cher ends at the characteristic Cher's Chalet which makes the place absolutely peaceful. Shops and more in the area If you are a good hiker you can also go to the village without using the car because there is an ancient path (about 2 km) that takes you to Gera Lario where you can find a supermarket, grocery stores, a bakery and restaurants. In Gera Lario there is also a large swimming pool with many sports equipment and a small port. In the apartment there are: \-1 bedroom with a double bed \-1 bedroom with 2 bunk beds (4 places in total); \-1 Living room: the living room has a fantastic view of the lake and has a table for 8 people. In the living room there is a double sofa bed (160\*200). \- A well equipped cooking area. The kitchen area is open to the living room. \-1 Bathroom : All new. Le logement est situé à Montemezzo, dans les hauteurs, à environ 1h30 de Côme. Il s'agit en fait d'une maison partagée en 3 appartements. Elle est spacieuse avec une jolie vue (malheureusement striée par les fils électriques). Elle dispose d'un agréable jardin (partagé avec les autres locataires). Par contre, elle est plutôt très fraîche et on entend facilement ce qu'il se passe dans les appartements à côté. La communication avec le propriétaire n'a pas été fluide et les démarches d'entrée et de sortie sont fastidieuses (par exemple, inventaire d'entrée et de sortie de l'ensemble des éléments de la cuisine : fourchettes, couteaux, cuillères, verres, tasses, assiettes petites et grandes, etc etc ... ). La chambre dans laquelle j'ai dormi n'avait ni rideaux, ni volets donc j'étais réveillée tôt le matin par le soleil. Il n'y a pas de jacuzzi comme mentionné sur l'annonce mais une baignoire d'angle dans la salle de bain. ##### Claire B. That said, if you don’t like driving up mountain roads then this is not for you. Not much in the local village of Selva so you have to go down to the lakeside to find shops etc. Nearest big supermarket is in nearby Colico. Nearest beach is in Domaso but the beach at Piona in Colico is much nicer for swimming. Main issue is that because you are up in the woods there are a lot of insects. Unfortunately the place has no fly screens or net curtains so you have to close the shutters and the place gets very hot at night. The pools/waterfalls shown nearby are about 400m away. - not really deep enough for swimming but good fora dip.. That said worth a visit. However, the “lower” path which leads to the best pools is a bit more of a trek as the path is quite overgrown and you will have to scramble down some banks. There are markers on trees to help as the instructions provided are not great. Not for those with mobility problems. The Upper path is quite steep but easier to navigate - but the pools aren;t as big. ##### SETH S. Séjour de 8 nuits en juin 2025 ### 2/10 – Terrible #### Bernd S. 23 sept. 2024 Points faibles : Propreté #### Insgesamt nicht zu empfehlen Die Lage des Hauses ist traumhaft und die schön eingerichtete Wohnung machte einen sauberen Eindruck. Unschön war allerdings das Bad – die Fugen im Bereich der Wanne waren größtenteils schwarz und der Duschvorhang voll mit Schimmel. Wirklich problematisch aber war der fehlende Trittschallschutz zur darüberliegenden Wohnung. Solange die Gäste ab 24.00 Uhr auch schlafen, ist das ja halbwegs hinnehmbar. An den letzten beiden Tagen/Nächten war aber an 7 junge Männer (alle ca. 20 Jahre) vermietet, die die Nacht zum Tag gemacht haben. An Schlaf war da jedenfalls absolut nicht mehr zu denken. Und da fragt man sich schon, wieso der Vermieter - ohne Rücksicht auf die Urlauber der Erdgeschosswohnung - an eine Gruppe junger Männer vermietet, die natürlich Party machen wollen und wohl auch eine andere Vorstellung von Urlaub haben. Der absolute Knaller kam dann aber zwei Tage nach unserer Rückkehr, als der Vermieter uns das Foto eines Tisches mit einer - angeblich von uns verursachten - Beschädigung zusandte. Die Beschädigung war aber bereits vorhanden, außerdem zeigte das zugesandte Foto definitiv nicht den Zustand des Tisches wie er bei unsere Abreise war. Obwohl wir dies sofort mitgeteilt haben, wurde die komplette Kaution von 500,00 € einbehalten. Dies ist offensichtlich nicht das erste Mal, dass der Vermieter mit allen Mitteln versucht die Kaution einzubehalten, wie man nachlesen kann. Die Sache wird nun von Fewo-Direkt sowie dem Kreditkarteninstitut geprüft. Fazit: Keine Empfehlung! ##### Bernd S. The flat is nice and the view to the lake from the garden is very beautiful. Every day we had our breakfast on the terrace. ##### Bernd T. Mooi verblijf boven op de berg met een geweldig uitzicht over het Comomeer. Grote woonkamer mer keuken. Goede bedden en badkamer. Airco aanwezig maar heeft geen afvoer naar buiten Helaas geen horren, 's nachts moeten de grote ramen dicht blijven. ##### Jaap L. Leider etwas hellhörig. Die Auffahrt zur Wohnung für meinen Geschmack etwas knifflig (sehr steil). Würde aber hier jederzeit wieder Urlaub machen! Wunderschöner Garten und tolle Terrasse! The house is located next to the forrest on the mountain, with a beautiful veiw. It is clean and well equiped with a nice, big garden, perfect for children and dogs. Sehr hell, ruhig und bis auf das Kinderzimmer sehr geräumig. Die Küche ist perfekt eingerichtet und man kann ganz wunderbar auf der Terrasse sitzen und den Blick auf den gegenüberliegenden Berg und den See genießen.
