The staff is professional, helpful, and friendly in every sense of the word. My wife and I felt that our stay Auberge de la Madone was truly an experience not to be missed, one of a kind. The unique place, unique atmosphere of medieval architecture, mountain quietness, pure kindness of personnel who greet you at Auberge de la Madone. Excellent dining with magnificent view from the top of a sheer cliff. Hotel personals are not willing to take action to solve guest requests. A private or rental car is a must, but also difficulties in finding gas stations. Once there, parking was easy to find (and free.) We arrived late (11pm) and there was a sign to call the number provided if checking in after 8:30pm. We got a small room and it was very dated with small and uncomfortable beds. There was no air conditioning and it was a hot summer night. There was an oscillating fan provided, which helped a bit. Une fois arrivé un parking plutôt miteux. Une pancarte "piéton pour s'inscrire" qui donne sur... rien. Remontant le parking, 2° pancarte avec un escalier assez raide et pas beau. On arrive devant un couloir sombre dans lequel se trouvent de chambres. Personne, aucune indication. On appelle et un employé nous dit de laisser nos bagages à cet endroit, qu'ils seront amenés à notre chambre et il nous invite à descendre d'un étage supplémentaire. Le patron nous vante les mérites de l'auberge, nous explique qu'il y a deux formules pour manger: gastronomique ou bistrot (dans les deux cas avec un choix très limité en plats et boisson.. Il nous conduit à notre chambre en nous laissant le soin d' transbahuter nos valises. Elle est assez grande, le lit aussi. En cette période de canicule, il n'y a qu'un ventilateur...
