ABOUT: "The Cottage" is Minneapolis' 5-star accommodation located in a quiet, safe South Minneapolis neighborhood with its small town vibe and Minnesota Nice attitude. The Cottage is a private one-level-living HOME (absolutely no steps) with exclusive yard and gardens, parking & one car garage. The Cottage IS NOT a condo, townhome, duplex or apartment. Guests can walk to Lake Nokomis, Minnehaha Falls/Park, locally-owned restaurants, breweries, bars, bakeries, coffee and fun shops. The Cottage is sandwiched between our beloved Minnehaha Falls/Park & Lake Nokomis and situated in one of the VERY most popular locations in Minneapolis/St Paul. The Cottage is perfect for couples, professionals and those traveling solo— especially women.

LOCATION: Close to the Mall of America & major highway thoroughfares makes getting around Minneapolis/St Paul and surrounding suburbs almost effortless. Close (but not too close) to MSP International Airport makes it an ideal location for International travelers and guests with close travel connections.

The Cottage is steps from THE GRAND ROUNDS, which is the nation's only urban-based National Scenic Byway. It is part of the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board's 6,400 acres of trails, lakes, parks, and recreation facilities. The parkways and paths are divided into seven segments and together form a nearly complete loop through Minneapolis as they connect 14 natural lakes, three creeks, two waterfalls, and the Mississippi River. Because of careful planning and strategic land acquisitions, all waterfront and rights-of-way around the lakes, creeks and river segments are in public ownership.

Walking distance to Lake Nokomis & Minnehaha Falls/Park at The Mississippi River and steps from The Grand Rounds make it easy for guests to explore what Minneapolis/St Paul is MOST known for - our LAKES! After all, this is why we are called "The City of LAKES" :)

METRO TRANSIT: Is one block away with access to The Light Rail/Blue line, which whisks guests to US Bank Stadium, Twins Stadium, Downtown, MOA & MSP. Guests can switch to The Green Line to access St Paul.

Guests can help themselves to organic strawberries, herbs & flowers. Comfortable outdoor furniture, fire table & grill beacons guests to relax and enjoy our Minnesota Nice weather most of the year.

INDOOR: The Cottage is designed by the Norwegian owner with clean, contemporary, functional Scandinavian influences and decor from Northern Norway. The Cottage is consistently updated including fresh paint, new bed/bedding & bathroom in 2025 and is always meticulously clean. Vaulted ceilings and sun tunnels bring in the natural light to create a bright, open & spacious feel. The Cottage hosts one bedroom w/new queen bed & high quality mattress, 6 large drawers for guest belongings, built-in bedside tables & lots of lighting. There are also protected outlets/inlets for various electronic devices, a double mirrored closet for hanged clothing and a desk area w/2 work stations. The living area hosts a comfortable sofa, chair and large television with a lot of channels including FREE Netflix and Amazon movies. A fully-equipped kitchen hosts a kitchen island w/seating for 2, refrigerator, range, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, dishwasher and pantry. The spa-inspired bathroom hosts a shower w/grab bars, heated bathroom/fan, large mirror, washer/dryer and storage for guest toiletries.

Note: The Cottage is ONE-LEVEL living with NO STEPS, which makes it convenient for everyone - especially those with physical limitations. Guests may also request a shower chair, if needed.

THE NORDIC NOOK: The Cottage also includes "The Nordic Nook", which provides a separate detached heated/cooled space adjacent to The Cottage & gardens. Guests can enjoy yoga, artwork or crafts, watch television, work or take a nap. The Nordic Nook is perfect for guests traveling together who may want or need some time alone. There are many tributes to the Norway homeland and guests are encouraged to celebrate "hygge" - a Nordic way of living - that brings peace, contentment & happiness. It is no wonder Norway & Minnesota are consistently rated the happiest places on earth!

SUMMARY: The Cottage consistently provides a clean, safe, comfortable “home away from home” experience with a Minnesota Nice attitude.

- Basic Essentials: Quality heat & air conditioning. FULLY-equipped kitchen, private bathroom w/elevated toilet, shower w/grab bars, washer/dryer, hair dryer, quality towels, linens & bedding.

-Parking Essentials: Free private parking is located in the driveway directly next to The Cottage with space for additional cars or bicycles. Guests may also park on the street.

-Kitchen Essentials: Range, refrigerator, dishwasher, pots/pans, dishes, silverware, knives, kitchen tools, electric kettle, toaster. Additional kitchen tools/equipment are available upon request - just ask!

- Pantry Essentials: "Welcome coffee" (Keurig pods), sugar, salt, pepper, spices.

- Bonus Essentials: "The Nordic Nook" is a separate, private living space adjacent to The Cottage & gardens, which includes a large television, convertible sofa, fireplace, coffee maker, tea kettle, refrigerator - and LOTS of hygge!

- Coffee Essentials: 2 Keurig Coffee Makers: One in The Cottage, one in The Nook.

- Comfort Essentials: New in 2025 a queen bed and high quality mattress w/ "under blanket", which provides gentle heat for legs & feet, This is an optional luxury during our colder months to help keep guests toasty warm and cozy. A heated bathroom fan feels great any time of year.

- Necessary Essentials: Fast, free, secure wireless Internet. Professional SNOW REMOVAL SERVICES w/ 1" trigger.

- TV Essentials: Two large, “smart” internet-connected televisions w/FREE Netflix & Amazon movies. One Samsung TV is in The Cottage, one in The Nordic Nook. The BOSE stereo speaker in The Cottage enhances the entertainment experience and allows guests to listen to their own music via Bluetooth.

- Paper Essentials: Toilet tissue, paper towels, coffee filters, Kleenex-style tissues.

- Soap Essentials: Quality shampoo, body soap, laundry & dish soap, dishwasher pellets, hand sanitizer, bathroom spray.

-Optional Essentials: A shower chair, if needed.

- Fun Essentials: Bicycle rental stations are within blocks of the property. Boats, canoes, kayaks and other water toys are available to rent close by at Lake Nokomis & Minnehaha Falls/Park, which are within walking distance.

- Outdoor Essentials: Outdoor lounge area with pergola, canopy and fire table. Outdoor lighting, propane-fueled grill. Organic herb, fruit & flower gardens, which guests are encouraged to use .

- Cleaning Essentials: Guests may request cleaning for an additional fee. Short term stays 10-30 nights include weekly cleaning, which can be arranged with the owner, if desired.
