I picked the venue as it looked like it had old-world charm. It did! I’m so glad we booked in for three nights. The town and cottage are an absolute break from busy society. Russell and Lyn stocked the fridge up more than generously, the swallows had us entertained with their back and forth feeding their young, the cottage was comfy and had warm fluffy dressing gowns waiting for us on a freezing Saturday night after the wedding. The town has a gorgeous history (read all about it in the on-site booklet). The boat sheds down the road were a pretty picture for the photo album, and the locals happy and friendly at the pub at the hotel down the road. What a lovely place to take a break and unwind. We loved our quiet getaway, and with Russell's help, enjoyed marshmallows on the fire pit across from a full moon rising over the lake. The accommodation is cosy, wonderfully decorated, and very well equipped. As other reviews have mentioned, the breakfast provisions were so very generous. The shower is hot and strong, and the beds super comfortable. The property is easily drive-able to Langhorne creek winery area and Strathalbyn, and we also enjoyed walking the lake path several times to the shacks, locomotive museum and playground. Property had lots of character with customised linen. Loved having a full kitchen and house. Russell was super responsive and friendly.
