My fiance and I booked a last minute getaway to Midland/Penatenguishene and was lucky to have found this charming bed and breakfast hosted by Jeannette and Ross. This turn of the century home is most impressive and the rooms are comfortable and well kept. The art in the rooms and around the home are worth taking time in to soak up!! Their hospitality is absolutely wonderful and we were treated to a wonderful breakfast to start our day on the right foot! The fruit plate was beautifully presented on their lovely china, and the omlette and fresh baked bread were such a treat! We had a warm welcome and the hosts made us fresh homemade breakfast. We did not know up front that we will have a shared bathroom, we are not sure if we missed the information or if it didn‘t say. It was easy to find parking spots on the street. We had an amazing stay at the Captain's House. We were treated so well by our hosts and made to feel so welcome and comfortable. The house is absolutely adorable, decorated beautifully. The room we stayed in was super cute. The bed was very comfortable and we slept so well. We were spoiled with amazing breakfast both mornings, and had access to a fridge, microwave and coffee station. We enjoyed getting to know our hosts and appreciated their suggestions on places to visit during our little getaway. Location is great as we were just a 5-10 min walk to downtown Midland and most shops and restaurants of interest to us. We really had a great time and are so grateful to Ginette and Ross. Enjoyed seeing all of the original art throughout the house. Experiencing this along with the artists being our host was a bonus. Jeanette and Ross were very friendly and welcoming. We were surprised that it was a shared bathroom and with four other guests in the house, it was a bit inconvenient but we all managed and had nice conversation at breakfast. The breakfast was well prepared and delicious.
