"The Royal Oak has a wonderful location in a quiet village setting and visitors can expect a relaxing change of pace. The countryside around is spectacular for England and the people are without exception friendly and helpful. I'm perhaps biased because my family lived in Gt Ayton in the early 19th Century and although I was born in North Yorkshire today, as a visiting southerner it's very much my home ground. " Easy check in and very helpful staff. The rooms are beautiful and I love that they have name's for the rooms and not numbers. Everything was spotlessly clean. We stayed overnight for a wedding we were attending near by. Would definitely recommend. "
