"The people who worked at Puerta Cortes were very nice. There were A LOT of flies outdoors in every restaurant and no one told us that the beaches aren't used by locals because of the stingrays in the shallow waters.... despite that - we thought it was an amazingly beautiful area. There was an issue with a late pickup on the return trip to the airport but it all worked out ok in the end."

Sea lions frolic in the waves, we saw a gray whale & a seal while paddleboarding offshore, and surfed the waves right off the house. "It’s a beautiful place to stay right by the beach. The only bad thing is that this place doesn’t clean the room so if your staying for a few days be prepared to clean your room. "

"40th birthday party for my boyfriend with all of our closest friends. The home was absolutely beautiful, very open and spacious for everyone. The indoor outdoor living was perfect for us. Staff was wonderful and very helpful. We loved that we could easily walk to the marina at night or catch a quick cab to downtown if needed. Would absolutely stay there again!!"

"Best part of this house is definitely it’s proximity to the beach. Nice appliances in the kitchen, including a dishwasher which some Gaviotas homes lack. Great living room with a comfy couch and nice TV. The beach chairs, tennis rackets, and surf rack were all great added amenities. 10/10"

I wish written check-in details and instructions were included in the space provided by Vrbo. I only got a text with door codes and wifi. The first guest to arrive got a walk-through with a couple verbal instructions but they had to try to remember what to relay to the rest of us. "A group of friends and couples stayed at Villa Maria and we had a wonderful time. Marilu was a terrific host and was extremely responsive for the duration of our stay. The house was incredible -- note that the pictures online do not do it justice; it was truly the best looking house on the block. The house is close to downtown and also has terrific views of the pacific ocean and sunsets. 5/5 stars is not enough!"

"First of all the property was beautiful! It was very clean and spotless. Property manager Gave us complementary snacks and drinks. Balcony was very spacious and gives you a great view of the beach.
