A taste of history! If you love log cabins, The Lookout is a serenely beautiful, 100-year-old restored cabin immersed in nature with breathtaking views. It's like stepping back in time into a secluded mountain haven.

As you enter, you'll notice the rustic décor with exposed log walls and all the comforts of home. The living room features a big comfy couch, fireplace, flat-screen TV and the cutest window seat ever …perfect for reading a good book.

The combined galley kitchen and breakfast nook is efficient for preparing snacks for your hike or enjoying your morning coffee — but don't forget about the deck with its custom raised deck chairs! The views are enough to make you want to spend all day outdoors.

The outdoor hot tub is ideal for relaxing after a day of hiking or sightseeing, with the mountain air to refresh your soul. Imagine just letting time drift by from your seat on the porch swing…such peace in a natural setting!

Share memories around the fire pit… roasting marshmallows or hotdogs to get that smoky taste. Surround yourself in nature and create new memories to last a lifetime.

The loft bedroom features a king bed. A bath/shower is on the main floor. If you have additional guests, a sleeper sofa will accommodate them. Perfect for a weekend lover's getaway with a cozy feel, this historic log home awaits you for a relaxing retreat with its own mountain majestic views, surrounded by natural beauty.

Amazing!
Loved our stay at The Lookout! My wife and I love just relaxing on our vacations, so this was perfect. The views are INCREDIBLE. The sunsets are such a treat and this is the best hot tub experience I’ve had at a Vrbo. Definitely recommend for a couple looking to get away!

Everything was as suspected. Only thing is that the loft bedroom you need to be careful because the ceiling is low and on the right side of the bed you can hit your head on the beams lol. And to turn on the shower you pull the knob and turn it to cold because it’s opposite but the hot water stays on forever it never ran cold. And it stayed very warm the whole time we got there and it was already dark but they left some of the light on around and inside the house so it wouldn’t be pitch black. I throughly enjoyed it and would definitely book it again.

I am so picky when it comes to staying places— when I arrive it has to be very clean or I will leave. This cabin was immaculate! It is so cozy and had so much privacy, but we loved knowing their were other cabins not far from us. The view is even better than the pictures, and we loved the outdoor swing that was the size of a bed! We spent so much time out there. The hot tub was clean and a great way to spend our evenings. We will definitely be back!

I needed a break and this place was the most peaceful place with breathtaking views! Everything was perfect! The area is very peaceful. No scary mountain roads getting to the place. The cabin was amazing! The only thing is that if you want to dine out you need to ensure reservations. I will definitely be back!

Our visit to this cabin was absolutely perfect. The cabin itself is completely adorable and the view is heavenly, especially sunset. My husband and I just need a weekend away from the hustle and bustle and this place delivered. We hated to leave.

Relaxing Visit
We enjoyed our stay at the comfy and cozy Lookout Cabin. The cabin has everything you would need for a pleasant stay. The furniture and bed are comfortable, the hot tub is huge, the view is impressive and the old cabin in the woods feel of the place made the whole stay even better. It was our most relaxing vacation ever.

Amazing view from the perch!
Wow what a view! We've stayed at a lot of places in Mentone but this probably takes the cake for Best View :) Would have been nice to have some basic seasonings for cooking as we have come accustomed to in other rentals but not a huge deal - they did, after all, have coffee waiting! It's a little further from town, but that's sort of the reason we go to Mentone to begin with. We did learn that is costs $60 for a Land Pass to hike in Ga on park lands - so back to the Alabama side for our hiking! Would recommend this place for a couple or individuals. The record player was really cool as well.

Gorgeous cabin
Pictures don't do it justice. Wrap around patio with lovely sunset views, and hot tub was great. Plenty of room for two, would also accommodate 1-2 children. Comfy couches, as well as the bed. Towels were small but plentiful. Plenty of plates, cups, utensils, and cookware. A bit of a drive to the store or any restaurants, but that is part of the charm. Would stay here again.

Great little place to stay. Absolutely gorgeous view! Inside stairs are a bit steep and slippery and the products they cleaned with were a bit strong for asthmatic ~ other than that, no complaints. Would definitely recommend.
