Bring the whole family & make the memories you'll cherish forever. Eagle's Rest & Owl's Perch sit side by side overlooking Eagle Lake. These cabins can accommodate up to 16 quests with a combination of 5 bedrooms, 4 ½ baths, 2 full kitchens, 2 livings rooms, a pool table & air hockey table! Outdoors you'll find two fire pits, two charcoal grills, paddleboat, paddle board, your own dock on the lake, & plenty of room for fun! These cabins are also pet friendly! This property contains TWO cabins, side by side on Eagle Lake. A large front porch welcomes you to Eagle's Rest overlooking beautiful Eagle Lake. Upon entering this gorgeous custom cabin, you'll find the comfy living room with wood floors and a stone, woodburning fireplace, dining area, and fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Whimsical details can be found throughout this unique cabin including door handles carved by a local artist and interesting art throughout. There is also a game room stocked with plenty of games, puzzles and toys and an air hockey table. The quiet and inviting king-sized en suite master bedroom is on the main level. A powder room and a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer finishes out the main level. Upstairs you'll find another full-size bath as well as a loft style bedroom with queen size bed plus two twin size beds. Enjoy views of Eagle Lake while relaxing on the screened porch, accessible from both the living room and the master bedroom. The outdoor space features a large yard, lots of sitting and outdoor dining areas, a charcoal grill and an antique forged iron fountain on the patio. Bring your fishing gear to fish off the dock or cruise around the lake on our paddleboat/paddle board or your own kayak or canoe. Please bring your own lifejackets. Owl's Perch is nestled beside the neighboring cabin and overlooks gorgeous Eagle Lake. The cabin has that wonderful rustic Mentone feel while offering all the creature comforts of home. A brand new fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an outdoor charcoal grill will have you prepping meals for the fam to enjoy either at the indoor dining table or at the lakeside picnic table. A cozy living room with flat screen tv, leads you out onto the screened porch overlooking Eagle Lake. There are two bedrooms downstairs: one private with a queen bed and TV; the other with twin bed and another twin sized custom-built top bunk. A full-sized bath with clawfoot tub and shower is also on the main level in addition to a laundry room with full size washer and dryer. On your way upstairs, stop off in the game room with full size pool table, games, puzzles, toys for the kids and a reading nook as well as another full-size bath. Upstairs loft bedroom offers lots of space with a queen bed + full bed, a custom dollhouse and a cozy seating area. There's plenty of space to play outdoors in the large lakefront yard. Enjoy smores around the private (second) fire pit tucked behind the cabin near the woods. We have lots of outdoor seating for you to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening cocktail on the screened-in porch overlooking the lake or relaxing on the spacious deck by the antique fountain. These cabins are completely separate with separate entrances and screened porches but they are joined by a deck. Not far from the parks and hiking. And it holds a lot of people if you have a large group.I really liked that there were two cabins - that way if you have some folks that want to stay up late, you can have an "activities" cabin and a "quiet" cabin for those that go to sleep earlier. The hosts were responsive to my questions, usually answering within 30 minutes.Just an FYI, when they give you the address, it worked well in Apple Maps, but Google Maps would locate another area. I noticed that when typing in the address, if you used "Rd" instead of "Road" it would locate it correctly. Not really an issue, we all found the place.I enjoyed the place and hope to stay there again sometime. ##### Bret H. The outside of the property worked great for us. The inside wasn’t as helpful. It seems this place hasn’t had the best up keep. The table in the play room wasn’t attached to the base. Making our puzzle time and games miserable. The dishwasher in eagles rest hasn’t been cleaned and smelled awful. All the dishes in the cabinet weren’t clean when we got them out. Eagles rest was also very dusty. Just a heads up the picture and rental agreement state that there are canoe and kayak on site. That isn’t the case. The paddle boat was also broken so our kiddos had to use paddles to use that. We come to Mentone every year for thanksgiving. We were hopeful this place would be somewhere we could come back to sadly we will def not come back. ##### kate c. It seemed it could have been tidied up just before we arrived. The porches were unswept and full of leaves, twigs, acorns/nut (trip hazard). Outdoor furniture needed cleaning from mildew and pollen. A resident bat droppings were on the porch & had been there a while. The cabins are gorgeous. Had a closed up smell that went away with the doors opened. The AC just happened to be clogged and water was standing on furniture, floor & laundry room was soaked. Over all maintenance was lacking TLC. The repair people came out on the weekend to repair it. Very nice people! Unfortunately the unit failed the next day. Refrigerator door could be hinged on the left side to open to the kitchen in the Eagles Nest. The king size bed was awesome & comfortable. Hot water hot! Make up wash cloths a nice touch. Kitchen utensils and cookware were awesome. Kids loved the air hockey game and paddle boards. We took 2 kayaks and the teens played football in the kayaks & on the paddle boards. The dads all enjoyed relaxing overseeing the water activities. Fishing was good. Firepit was enjoyed by all. We were enjoying a 50th & 74th Birthday 4 day weekend. The weather was nice. We had no reason to leave the cabins. 2 families joined in the overnight stay and family from within 1.5 hours joined us on Saturday. The games were fun. We played our family card game most of the weekend, ate good food and enjoy the outdoors. We spotted the eagle nest and an owls nest as well. A group of church friends came together for a weekend retreat, and this was an excellent atmosphere. We had a wonderful weekend of cooking, eating, Bible study, games, and laughter. These cabins were so comfortable and had everything we needed for a great weekend together. No matter the weather there are plenty of things to do both inside and out. Quiet and tranquil location set in the quaint little town of Mentone. We were finally able to pull it off this November weekend. The house is exceptional in all aspects and covered all of our general needs in fine fashion. But it was the setting itself that made the weekend so memorable. Leaves changing, cool temperatures, cloudless skies, the wonderful house and all it offers and the addition of friends rarely seen made it as fun and relaxing and peaceful a time as had in quite a while. This was one of the best places we've stayed. The common area between the 2 houses proved a great place to hang out. We cooked a lot, did a little paddling and enjoyed being together. We needed a place for my dad and his siblings to reunite for a needed get together. It was great seeing them watch the Bama game together for the first time in years. 😊 With both cabins there was plenty of room! All amenities were provided!
